Riddles are really friggin fun. Verily!
The rules:
One riddle at a time. Whoever correctly guesses the riddle (and has the answer confirmed by the riddler) gets to post the next one. They have 48 hours to do so, then the floor is open. (They can also decline to post, and leave the floor open, but c'mon guys, give it a shot.)
The riddler gets to decide whether to give hints, and whether to answer questions. (i.e. It's not 20 questions folks.)
Something that has worked very well is for guessers to post the reasoning behind their guesses--which gives the riddler a chance to steer them along, in an organic fashion. And it keeps people from just randomly guessing.
Riddles are to be made based on Square Soft games (pre-2003) that were released in America. (The reason for this is to limit the field and keep it relatively accessible to all.)
If you are posting a riddle, pick one game to riddle about, and state it in your initial post.
So, the first riddle. It's from Final Fantasy VII:

Ok... I've never been good at writing riddles but I'll give it a shot. Chrono Cross. I've gone to pieces, having seen all parts of the world. I'm quite the colorful character, thanks to my clowning around. I love to eat, despite my very boney figure. Who am I?

Wow, my riddle solved in one shot again...it's either A. I'm giving away too much in my riddle B. My choice of an answer is too easy to identify C. nate really knows his games or D. nate googles the hell out of the riddle till he gets a lead and figures it out haha lol anyways i guess this is karma for beating you to the punch last riddle. go for it

Nah, I wouldn't use google XD. I would think that would take a lot of the fun out of these. However, I recently replayed the majority of FFIX in Jan/Feb. And while VII definitely isn't my favorite FF, it is etched into my memory quite well for some reason XD. Anyways... From Final Fantasy IX
