You learned this in a week?

God damn, what the hell am I doing with my life? I need to play more.

actually i'm pretty sure I learned that one in two days. Not memorizing it, but playing it up to speed while sight reading without it sounding shitty.
I agree. play more. record more!

One recording a week is not a bad goal. It would force me to deal with imperfection.

You could pipeline them,

You could pipeline them, practicing multiple pieces each day, but not spending a lot of time on any one piece in particular. After all, practicing every day is a lot more important than practicing a lot, and the total number of days spent practicing is more important than the total number of hours.

Love this idea! You won't mind if I butcher music box here?

It'll still be better than my recording, whenever I get around to it ;-)

I usually end up practicing

I usually end up practicing anywhere from 1-3 hours a day every week day. I don't usually just practice a singular piece for that long, unless i'm really into the song and I want it completely memorized. Instead I have about 70 tabs saved into a favorite of folders that I saved for practice time. There are tabs for tremolo practice, alternate picking, thumb slaps, percussive techniques and shit. After cycling through these tabs for about a week, I usually have one that's about ready to record. Its neat.
