I seriously hate when people say use a Capo. Since I don't own one nor want to waste my money on one it really is frustrating when the only tab of a single song say to use a capo.

In short go back in add just add three to all the notes. Please

It's obviously easier to play and sounds better with the capo. Look at all those open notes the capo makes possible.

If you want to play it in the correct key so badly without a capo, do like you said yourself, and +3 all the notes. It's that easy. You should count yourself lucky there even exists a tab with all the correct notes for the song you want, capo or not.

If you need a cheap capo, make one out of a pencil and an extra shoe string. It works.

Or the obvious answer: just play it anyways without the capo. It'll be out of key, but who cares?

Dude, I hate to say this, but buy a capo. They cost like 5 euros. Why would you as a guitar player refuse to spend money on such a cheap but really useful tool? It's not waste of your money

I almost think of a capo as part of my guitar, I always have one clipped on (I'm mostly a classical/fingerstyle/jazz player). Why the hate for a capo? I got a pack of really nice ones and it ended up costing me about $4 per capo. I stuck one on every guitar I own.

It's like saying that the original piano didn't have a sustain pedal (it didn't when it was invented), so sustain pedals are not traditional. I'm not going to use a sustain petal.

I think there's a general capo hate because it can be used as a crutch to make things a bit easier by putting the frets closer together. It's a lot easier to stretch from 5 to 9 than it is from 1 to 5.

That being said, I don't think you should shame others for that reason..
