Chrono Trigger ...are my two most nostalgic games. Never did play Earthbound, but now it's so expensive I'm thinking of putting up a Craigslist ad requesting to RENT it. hahaha

And then I realized that the chord progression from Chrono Cross's Another World is the same progression as the chorus from Peace of Mind by Boston, and life was never quite the same. |

Wasteland (the game that the very first Fallout was a remake of, if you're too young to remember it), because still in many regards it has far more freedom of everything than most modern day RPG wannabes. Seiken Densetsu 3, because it is awesomesauce actiony-RPG goodness. Mass Effect, because precious few RPGs let you be a dick AND get away with it. Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines, because even fewer RPGs bother with not allowing you to be a complete knight in shiny armour at all. Oh, and Knights of Xentar was nice too. The hentai was just icing on the cake, it is first and foremost an insidiously funny parody of jRPG canons. |

I fell in love with this game the second I hit the World Map and heard the background music. It had a cool jazzy feel which I had yet to experience in an RPG. It's an all around great game, but the music really stands out to me. I'm currently working on probably 15 tabs from this game, and will post them as soon as they're right. Ryu forever!!

Definitely the Golden Sun series. The characters, the story, the dialogue, and especially the music were amazing. Can't wait for the DS game. The Legend of the Dragoon and Chrono Trigger get 2nd and 3rd. Megaman Battle Network was pretty good, too. That and Pokemon get honorable mention in my book. I suppose Kingdom Hearts doesn't count because it has Final Fantasy characters? |

Too many to list, so I'll just pick the top five favourites. 1. Golden Sun, Golden Sun: The Lost Age Even if we could name a game from FF, I wouldn't, since I only played IV, which bored me to tears. Other notable RPGs that were okay: Chrono Trigger, Sands of Destruction, Dragon Quest IV, V, and IX, Megaman Battle Network series, Rune Factory series, etc etc... yeah, I really like RPGs. Edit: How could I forget TWEWY? Best game ever. |
