The big collab is almost done, I'm just waiting for Acoustic Cetra to tell me whether she'll have time to record her parts or not.

P.S: I have the sheet music for that, if anyone's interested.

It's a long story... Basically, I'm still waiting for an answer from Acoustic about the oboe parts. She said she was pretty busy and wasn't sure about whether she would be able to record them or not. So, in the mean time, I recorded the oboe parts on flute, just in case.

But... I'm still waiting for her answer. Maybe tomorrow??

So i was thinking, once i'll get the last song from CD1 (Julia) i'll send them to Swiggles who will harmonize the sound volumes.
When it's done, i can make a video with the FULL cd1 and put it on the gametabs YT channel as a giant teaser.
And maybe when the album will be done, add the CDs 2 3 and 4 on the YT chanel with dl links to the album.

I know I didn't submit anything for this album, but I'm still going to give you my 2 cents :P

I think one whole disc is a bit much for a "teaser." When you tease something, you only give a little of it. I know there's alot of songs since you all are covering the whole soundtrack, but 1 whole CD as a teaser is a bit much imho. I'd say... compile a few songs from each of the disks (not necessarily the whole song) and creatively mash them up into a video and release that on Youtube as a teaser (one song will fade out and transition into the main section of another. Just an idea). Or you could do multiple teaser videos (again, using snippets of songs from each disk) and release them over the course of a month or two because, let's face it, this contest isn't going to be finished by the end of the month. You know, I know it. We all do. :P Anyway, I recommend no more than two teaser videos, maybe three (you obviously don't want to spoil the whole album).

That's my take on it. Do with it what you will. :3

I think it can be considered

I think it can be considered more of a staggered too.

There have already been trailer videos, after all, with that basic idea of fading out between songs.

Well, if you try to release when the other albums are going to be released there is a higher chance that you might still be forgotten. Most people aren't going to listen to every single album, I'd say. I think they'll pick one or two and stick with that.

It's like AAA games. When there are big games releasing, some developers decide to wait so that their game doesn't get swept under the rug and become irrelevant. To expand on that, let's use the PC re-release of Batman Arkham Knight and the release of Fallout 4. Of course, this is a bit of a special case, but I think it still shows my point well. Out of those two games, which do you think will get the most attention? I'll answer that for you. Fallout 4. That game is going to sweep the PC re-release of BAK under the rug. Even if they hadn't fucked up the initial PC release of BAK, it would still get swept under the rug by Fallout 4.

Game releases have to be timed well so that they don't get swept under the rug by other games. The last thing you want to do is release a game when there are a lot of other games releasing near the same time. It's best to do it after all the buzz dies down.

I think the same applies to albums as well (as well as movies, books, etc.). I hope that makes sense. :)

Hey i know there is a lot of things going on =)

So i'm going to explain all the 5 themes, you can pick one and at the end of the vote (on October 10th) the one with more vote will be the theme of our 1st album all together !

The album making will start once the FF8 Gametabs Album is done, which should be at the end of the month, i hope :D

Here are the 5 themes:

- Horror: Any songs from any "survival horror" games but also from game based on the horror "lore" as Luigi's Mansion, Medievil, or even Castlevania. And even maybe comes from haunted village, ghost forest, hell level etc stages in "normal" games but in those case it's better you ask before starting something to be sure it fits the theme.

- Indie Games: Can be any songs from any independent games such as The Binding of Isaac, super Meat Boy, Journey etc =)

- New Generation: You can cover songs from any games that came out in the year 2010 or after. But only ORIGINAL GAMES, no HD Remake or re-editions!

- Platform Game: Song froms games like Mario, Rayman, Metroid, Castlevania, Crash Bandicoot, Banjo Kazooie... Just be careful that not every games in those series are platform games! so once again if you are hesitating, just ask.

- SNES Tribute: Any song from any games on the Super Nintendo can be covered :)

And here is the poll: http://www.pixule.com/276389970449_chose-the-theme-of-the-1st-pixel-mixe...
