I apologize for my retarded submission spamming in this thread, but I just discovered something in my tab I had to change ;P (Admins may delete previous posts). I won't do any more changes now I promise :)
I've been working on Kakariko Village and the Yoshi's island Story music Box (despite not even having finihsed transcribing it XD). I'm wondering which people would be more interested in?
I played both games and listened to both tracks when i was a little gremling, so i can't decide which i like more xD
By the way, here is my contribution:
It's Lufia I Fortress of Doom's Intro theme.
It's an awesome song for an awesome game!
Since it's my first time working with tempo and those things... i thing it came pretty well... but still, any help, tip, whatever, is welcome.
P.S: I couldn't install the trial version of Guitar Pro, so i had to use the Power Tab Editor, and it's a "ptb" extension...
Here's my fingerstyle arrangement for Angel's Fear, the opening theme from Secret of Mana. It's just the main tune, so it's pretty short, but the other parts wouldn't fit for guitar.
Thanks BooDoo, but I actually have a PDF file in the download link of the tab. I would prefer to use the one generated by Powertab because I like the way the eighth notes are presented in groups of four rather than two and the GuitarPro does not pick up on the staccato annotations.
I simply can't make PDF, so i think my Lufia Intro was in vain.
If someone could download it though and help me with the PDF fomat, i'd be very grateful.
I'll make a normal Tab submission.
What's the word on the project? There are several tabs I'm looking forward to.
I've been really busy with work lately and have not been putting much effort into my own arrangement. But I started this project, so I can't not submit something. I will spend the next few days getting my arrangement done... after that, it looks like pretty much everyone who was going to submit something has, so maybe we'll wrap it up at the end of this month.
I just changed jobs this week, so I understand what it's like to be busy with real life stuff. I apologize, I didn't mean to rush you. I'm just excited about the project and I was curious about how things were coming along. :)
I've been watching this for a while, wondering when it'll be announced as closed. Never figgered on submitting since I play bass and usually tab or arrange for that.
But now I'm working on a guitar arrangement that i realized may also fit the bill here if this isn't closed by the time I'm done, if ever - don't bother waiting on me, I wouldn't especially since I know myself [and i'm 'bout to hit the hay anyway, never can tell what I'll wanna continue from one day to the next].
It does bring up the thought of having this and future projects in a section on the main site, similar to recordings, just with the arrangements grouped by project and having submissions ongoing, stopped at some point once a certain number is reached or enough quality submissions have been submitted to a project.
just thinking out loud, seems like a project system like that could keep them easily accessible and in view indefinitely, and a good way for someone to find similar pieces to one they like.
This was originally meant more for myself so that I could get a better handle on tapping. It was sort of inspired from when I was learning this Kaki King song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR4JxyfEtmY.
The beginning seems a bit bright to me, but whatever. Oh and it's pretty difficult... I can't play the main tapping part that well (the second part is much easier), but I did add instructions to an individual txt and to the score information.
EDIT: I just edited it slightly at the beginning. Hopefully it's not as bright as before XD. I have updated this post to reflect that.
Alright guys. Final deadline for this project is October 1st, 2 weeks from now. No more extensions. If it's not in before this date then it won't be included. We gotta get rolling with this.
So I just went through this whole thread to make a compact list of all submissions. There I noticed that EeinX, BohmaN and Rafaga did not submit their arrangements to the main site.
@ BohmaN : Your file hoster has deleted all the files so I can't access them at all. Maybe you could upload them using your gametabs filebrowser and then post your submission in the right section of this forum.
@ Rafaga : You too, might want to submit your arrangement to the main site. Also it would be cool to have a .txt file next to the .ptb
Hi there,
this is my arrangement/interpretation of the "Secret of Mana" song "Spirit of the Night".
It's somewhat easy to play, but it was fun to create.
It's the first arrangement i've ever made, so be gentle with me ;)
Today we reached our final deadline, hence further submissions won't be accepted anymore.
I've sent a PM to all judges, so I think the next thing to worry about is the cover art, eh?
All those are just concept sketches so everything still can be changed, those are just to show you my concepts for cover. I'm going to do improved versions soon (those three were made really in a hurry ^^).
Final version will be 100% CG (lineart + colors).
Let's go:
kite's tail (tab sequence) - a bit longer and bigger (there should be more of it).
kite - should be smaller and placed higher (more depth for illustration)
background for color version - propably added sky, cloud(s) and maybe sun
2. Rainbow
Changes that I think should be made to this one:
rainbow - will be background of tabulature - hard too see it B&W, when colors will be added, there will be a rainbow :)
bow of the rainbow will be more curve (more rainbow of rainbow xD)
color version background - sky or something similar, not sure about this one
3. Combotroler
Changes that I think should be made to this one:
more perspective needed - all three - controler, fretboard and tabulture needs stronger perspective
no idea for color background now xD, gonna make it up soon
Why I wrote those comments instead of drawing new sketches with those changes?
Actually I dont have time for this atm, will do this during this week, just wanted to show all of this to you as soon as possible. Font for all labels will be chosen during making lineart.
Feel free to comment these as you want. Choose one witch you think suits best for cover or wait for updated versions with changes I suggesteed (or with changes that you will sugest). Sorry for any language mistake (I do not intend to any ;] ).
This is message that I sent to archard yesterday - part of his reply was:
"You should post this on the forum and see what everyone else thinks."
So I did. Let me know what you think about those concepts.
I actually think that the Kite idea is the best one out of the three. As about the list of "things to change" , I really think you shouldn't make the kite too small, too much of the background ( f.e. sky ) will make it look rather empty, if you get what I mean.
Good luck with all of it!

You need to use a program like Guitar Pro or Powertab, Rafaga.
"The tab must be neat and well presented, and it must be outputted in PDF form"
Those programs save PDF files
