Tune Contest #61 - Loss Theme

giovanniac

Joined: Apr 21 2014

Not a "game over theme", it's a loss theme!

As I appreciate the songs that usually plays when the main character lose his love or his friends in a game or in movies...

Can contain sorrow, hope, angry... Everything that make your imagination flow!
Fell free to describe some kind of scene behind your song...

I would like to see too much feeling in your songs!

1 minute and 30 seconds or longer!

Until 09.02.2014

(Hope that i've done everything right, sorry if I wrote something wrong, hehe!)

@avaruussaha - i really like the intro/outro part. i wont lie, i wanted something very different from your middle section based on how it started! but it was still nice. good guitar work, too.

I guess I was going for something different in the middle in the first place, but got impatient with the difficulty of it. I think the original idea was to do something with just a single guitar... But its so easy to get sidetracked at (all) times.

Due date 9/2...? o_O today is 8/6. Seems a bit long but w/e

Good guitar stuff, Ava. Though I do agree with tiger child. It sounds mournful at first, then it's like they tried to forget about the pain and just act happy, then they remember they're sad again haha still good stuff :^)

i was going to say "thanks, mr. bighead." but then all i could think about was rocko's modern life. although, that wouldn't make my thanks any less sincere. i should probably stop.

Good job, Kabukibear and tiger child.
They're both pretty chill, but I sense the channeling of feelings of loss in there as well :-)

Very nice stuff, also Lloyde's piece paints quite a different scene of a loss, like tiger child said.

My shot at this ended up being more about remembering someone/something with happy and elated thoughts it seems. I even tried if I could stick a bit more with the intro-ish part but the same thing happened, I ended up with something completely different. It was not meant to be.

it's funny how that works, that in spite of ourselves, sometimes the music dictates its own direction.

Finally, the

Finally, the decision!

Avaruussha : Great beginning and very well written. Give a change of rythm and emotions in a short time song. I would say that it gives a feeling of determination to pass what it takes to have what you have lost back.

Kabukibear: Very good song, only too much repetitive. The song definitely makes a well defined sad scene for me, but I think it could have more instruments to fill it. Sorrow is the main emotion for me in this one.

tiger child
: The writing sounds "full", have a very good main theme and sounds very emotional for me. As the melody keep going on my mind just think about something like: "finally, it's over".

Lloyde Sorrow
: For me this song sometimes show an angry side of loss. It sounds like "why it happened?"... Like someone have stolen the life from the main character's friend.

I think this competition didn't need my decision hehe
Every song was just so great that I think there is no loses here, but, as the protocol says:

Winner is: tiger child!

Because for me it has given what loss is... One despair that somehow have an end!
I've haven't wrote a lot because I only would make more mistakes and i'm still learning english hehe

Thanks everyone to participate!

Now's the tricky part... deciding on a new theme. As a suggestion, maybe since this theme was "loss" how about a "gain" theme? like, it could mean gaining confidence, momentum or simply gaining a level ;^B just a thought

Haha. I have a couple ideas.

That's true. Although I had no way of knowing you were in Brazil. I lived in Mexico, so it's habit.

I'll post up the new contest later today. Still going back and forth between two ideas. Plus living in my car on the road, so I get a bit sidetracked.

Because of your soundcloud info I thought you live in USA
So I though this "gracias" where a mistake, not an habit hehehe
