Well I'm not sure if you can actually buy blood-looking paint. My suggestion would be to mix it yourself. What kind of paint are you using? With most paints you can just mix red with some purple and a touch of black. Just mix in different colors until you get the right one. That's what I do.

for a plastic/wood surface i've seen some really good images on the internet i just was trying to figure out how they do it and get it to stay for stage sceneries

Oh, well I would just say to go with the obvious course of action and splatter the paint all over the surface. If you want it to look wet, I'd suggest dabbing the dried paint with lacquer or clear coat enamel.
