Try transposing it up a 1/2 step. You'll be in the key of D and can use drop d with no problems. |

^ Pretty much do this. Also try to tune the strings so that the capo does not make it the notes sharp.( Just posted a thread on tuning )<-- Sound wise not fingering wise.

I need help with an arrangement for my moms birthday!
She really likes my solo guitar stuff so I had the idea to turn one of her favorite songs into a solo arrangement, which I will record for her and show her on her birthday. I asked my dad if he thought this was a good idea and he said she'd love it, so i'm dead set on doing this.
This is the original song
this is my arrangement of it so far (I skipped the intro)
Away we Go Away
I have until the 6th of december, but i'm struggling a bit with the tuning and playability. I think if I keep practicing, i'll be able to get the percussive bits and strumming right, but I don't like that I have to tune three strings up a half step to get the fingerings easier, but I had some trouble when I tried to just slap a capo on the first fret and tune some of the other strings down.
Basically I need help with the tuning, but since I want this to sound as good as possible, if you want to give me other tips on the arrangement for how to make it sound better, easier to play, I absolutely want to hear it.
