They will be announcing the start of the new trilogy based on FFXIII. So You will be getting FFXIII-3-2 after this.

One of my good friends recommends FF13. He says not to go in expecting it to be the same as other FF, though.

I never took his advice. After 10 to 12 I kind of lost interest :/

whut ?

The XIII-2-1 is probably asian pride or something, they want to show they still CAN make a good game, even if it kills them. Square Enix already ridiculed themselves a lot so why being ashamed ?

I lied of course! Never played the game!

On a more serious note, it was kinda agonizing to play this game for more then 10 minutes, I kinda hated everything about it. Still stuck at the entrance of the last dungeon but I just can't bring myself to continue playing it.. But I heard many people liked it if you go exploring and stuff, so you might want to keep that in mind :/ Story and development really isn't a strong point of 12.

the only time blitzball actually matters in the game you have all the crappy players and youve never played the game before. You can keep playing it after if you want but WHY?!

Also why they made it so you not only cannot see where you're going on the license grid but also that you have to piledrive through say Axes 9 to get White Magic 10 is beyond me.

EDIT: Oh and chests youre not supposed to open defies every RPG instinct I've had for 20 years.

Same reason you put up with stupid shit like dodging 200 thunderbolts in a row or winning the chocobo race at 0.00 seconds time. Strong need to get dem solari weapons full power bla.

Beside that, it was pretty fun after. It's the same with triple triad etc. the reward for getting stronk and (more or less) unique items is motivating for starting to playing the small things. And then you can't stop anymore D: Fuck the world rescue and stuff, better play cardgames!

I read a news some days ago 'bout the fact that Square-Enix want to keep on working on VSXIII, but they will re-name it FFXV.
Wan't to know the sad fact? Is not one of my unfunny joke, it looks like this news is real.

Btw my personal chart is
Great: FFVI - FFIX
Good : FFVII (can be great, but oh well) - FFIV
Ok : FFV - FFI - FFVIII - FFX
Still ok but not that good : FFII - FFIII - FFXIII (well call it FF is a rape to the saga, but at the end was not that crap)

Oh and XII sucked.

I know I'm probably in the minority for preferring the remade versions of I but I really hate the "spells per day" type system over an MP type system. It's also why I didn't like FFIII much.

XII was pretty "different",

XII was pretty "different", but I loved the battle system. Everyone I know who either loves or hates FFXII seems to fall within two categories:

Have you played FFXI?

-> No. -> wat

-> Yes. -> basically offline FFXI.

I'm in the latter, although there were some things I couldn't stand. Whiny, chronically-anorexic Vaan was pretty high up there on the I'm-never-playing-this-again list.

I've got a friend who loves XIII, but I can't see the appeal. It just seems so dissimilar; main guys "dies", you lose (no phoenix downs?), and very linear. Maybe one day I'll pick up a copy when they're a bargain, but for now, I'll cover my ears and lalalalalala

But the best FF? C'mon, everyone knows it's Tactics. That game was unforgivingly awesome.

In regards to the OP, I'm actually kind of surprised that Square Enix is actually doing another game for XIII. I personally liked XIII for what it was. It has a lot of cons that can outweigh the pros (Leader of your party dies? Easy game until the difficulty gets ramped up at the second to last chapter of the game? Fuck you, game. Fuck you.), but the story was decent and you can sympathize/relate to the characters on some level. Lightning is a great character if you actually play the game longer than twenty minutes, but Square should know that XIII is not a good place to make sequels. The proof is in the sales and criticisms of the first game.

This is how I look at the games of the series:

Good - FFIV, FFV, FFVI, FFIX, FFX
Okay - FFVII, FVIII, FXIII
Bland - The first three games. FFII surprised me with its different leveling system at first. FFIII starts off slow and uninteresting. You have to push past it really.

I am still attempting to

I am still attempting to trudge through XIII, ergo, I have no reason to look forward to this... In my opinion, opinions are incredibly inconsistent and seemingly irrational...but hey, since this seems to be a trend, here we go!

I: Great. Square changed the genre at the moment FFI was released
II: Never truly hooked meh
III: Same as 2. Sad but true
IV: Absolutely great. Truly addictive for me.
V: Also amazing. They really developed the characters and plot well
VI: Couldn't get into it. I know. I'm a criminal.
VII: This game rocks! Only...I'm so depressed now...so...so depressed.
VIII: Psh. I would play FFVIII just for Triple Triad. Still fun though.
IX: Might be the best. Has the cards from VIII and the genius from IV/V
X: Haven't had a chance. My sister thought it would be a good idea to steal my copy.
XII: I liked it. Especially the battle system. I know. I'm a criminal.
Tactics: Also competing for the "best" position in my books.
Tactics Advance: Wait a minute...you were demoted to handheld, and yet the game still rocks?
And you know we all loved Ergheiz. Everybody, best game of all time, amiright?
