Only me. I mean, who else, really?

So here I am watching Glee (shut up), listening to Uptown Girl, and I think, good lord, that one part, the "whoa-oah" part, sounds really familiar.

And then I'm at work, playing the song in my head, and I think, you know what, that sounds a lot like something from Final Fantasy V. I even think it's the library theme, but I'm not sure.

And then I'm talking to Auriplane, and I mention this, and she hits me up with a cued link to the part I'm vaguely remembering, and:

Yep, aside from a couple minor differences, the bass line is the same in both parts. (The differences are a half-step key change, and added rhythm in the FF5 part.) And this makes them both feel very similar. In addition to the bass line being the same, the part is the bridge of both songs!

I spelled it out for you, because if I just said "don't even try to act like you don't hear it", you would think I was stupid.

And no, I'm not claiming that this was intentional. It's just cool.

Oh, and just to double post,

Oh, and just to double post, if you keep watching the music video, the second time the "whoa" part comes up, they have a couple of the Electric Boogaloo dancers -- probably known better to you as the dancers featured in DJ Steve Porter's Slap Chop Remix.

And then I realized that the chord progression from Chrono Cross's Another World is the same progression as the chorus from Peace of Mind by Boston, and life was never quite the same.

Kudos for the topic.
Uptown Girl is played on the Japanese Restourant I usually go with my GF.
They played it in the background. All the time.
Not Kidding.
Btw SlapChop was da shit, we had it but with a different name, and the guy was dubbed in a stupid way, so when the remix came out, I didn't enjoyed it 100%.
Btw he was not good as Chef Tony's Miracle Blade !
Someone have to make a remix of Him.
