whats everyones favorite happy endings in film?

mine would be:

1. eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
2. the fisher king
3. guillermo del toro's the orphanage

eternal sunshine of the spotless mind was just so damn charming, and the way it all came together in the was really quite inspiring; if you havent already seen it, you wont regret watching it.

the fisher king just put a massive smile on my face; also a very charming movie, and there are moments where you really feel for the characters in it, you sense every emotion, their portrayal is brilliant

the orphanage, for those of you who dont know, is entirely in spanish--as is the case with guillermo del toro, and is a horror flick, my personal favorite in the genre actually; but the ending is so damn spectacular, and so fitting a closure for the way movie played out, that it really makes me wonder why del toro hasnt received more recognition than he has. the movie actually brought me to tears, really, but ive got a soft spot for emotional endings and moments in film.

whats alla yers??

I hate happy endings. And I personally found eternal sunshine's ending depressing, but then I didn't really like the film hehe.

i see what you mean, even though i really enjoyed the film; i just saw the way everything worked out in the end to be happy, and 'nice'

its a different spin on classic love stories, which i dont generally dig because they end up being generic run'o'the mill chick flicks, but eternal sunshine really separated itself from the norm with its psychological aspects

Well, if I was to choose a favourite romance that would probably be it. Shows how much I dig the genre.

im not a real fan of romance flicks either, but some of them surprise me; truth be told, eternal sunshine is the only to have really done so, but without the psyche factors involved, that movie woulda been atrocious.

i prefer fantasy and sci-fi movies; lotr, star wars, the riddick trilogy, pans labyrinth, those kind of films. grew up on that fantasy stuff.

Psycologoical Thriller and Sci Fi Horror's where it's at imo. Now to make a contribution.. I hate to admit it but I'm a huge fan of mma/cage fighting/boxing films, even those cheesey 'school kid gets beat up and learns mma/boxing' ones. The end fight scenes are always a happy moment in my life. I did mma/kickboxing and boxing for a good few years, and regret stopping it. That would probs explain it.

i know this doesnt technically fall into mma or kickboxing or boxing, not really, but did you see fight club bhael? the psychological plot in that movie is utterly mind bending

I do like that film! Really artistic and, as you say, mind bending. There were a lot of films like that being made at the time, but most went under the radar. 12 Monkey's is like Fight Club, and well worth a watch if you havn't seen it.
