Octave, from _Over the

Octave, from _Over the Rainbow_. Fun fact: Everyone thinks this song is called _Somewhere Over the Rainbow_, because the interval in some....WHERE!!! is so freaking memorable. Major second: Cosmo Canyon. Minor third, Final Fantasy IV Main Theme. Actually, if you keep listening, the interval between the 1st and 3rd notes is a perfect fifth, between the 1st and 4th notes is a minor seventh, and between the 1st and 5th notes is a major sixth. Personally, I find that whole phrase to be super-memorable. Aerith's theme, first note to second: minor third. First note to third: minor sixth. Perfect fourths: Final Fantasy 6, Opening Theme. The first six notes are all separated by perfect fourths. (It's quartal harmony! Hooray!) Major second (downward): Final Fantasy battle theme. In the opening eight notes of the bassline. It's in most of the FF battle themes, so that's pretty memorable. Perfect fifth, Shadow's Theme. The first two notes of the melody. As you can see, I have a preference for the opening notes of a bassline or a catchy melody. Those tend to be the most memorable for me.

Here is a nice flash tool that does the whole song and interval association thing... it has plenty of video game music: Not every interval has a video game theme associated with it, but the majority do. Just click on the "Songs" button next to "Options", and you will be able to choose from some pull down menus. I wouldn't necessarily go for video game music if it is less memorable than something else, though. |

I'm a music teacher, and I'd like to know if there's any way I can use video game music to help my students learn intervals. I'm not talking about the level-based sort of music games, where you play through the same song over and over again until you get it right. You should try this https://masterbundles.com/stock-content/vector/sport-svg/ site to download best templates. I've been thinking about the idea of learning intervals by playing a single song or piece of music over and over again until you get it right. |

I was taking a music theory class this semester and our teacher told us that associating songs and intervals help us to identify them real quick. Like lets say a Minor second is the jaws theme.well i barely passed that test because i didnt care for or know the songs that he told us other than the jaws one and star wars p5. So i was wondering if you guys could give me video game or songs from anime or any popular media that i may know.
