I think it would be cool to see charts for each person, which games they played and feel like they have good memories for, it'd help with what to expect when writing a riddle for a certain game. Like "very strong" would mean you remember the entire main storyline, plus pretty much all the side stuff as well, and probably a good deal of slightly more obscure info. "Strong" would mean you remember most of the storyline and a good deal of the side stuff. And on down the list. My chart would look like:
Very strong: FF7, CT
Strong: FF6
Decent: FF8
Fair: FF5, FF4, Mario RPG, Mana, CC
Poor: FF9
None: Evermore, any other FF

In order to get me,
you'll need to use your claws.
Though it may be tedious and akward,
to finally make me yours.
This small ordeal,
could leave you seeing red,
but don't pound your PSX with rage,

If you do smash your console,
into a thousand million bits,
At least salvage something,
from the junk you made of it.
Have fun :)

"Frogma is not a communist! He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star!"
Knights of the Round? It's red, you have to use a chocobo to get it, they have claws, and it is hella tedious and awkward to get the Golden Chocobo. If that's right then the second half is just filler?
But the last 4 lines sound important.
----------
And then I realized that the chord progression from Chrono Cross's Another World is the same progression as the chorus from Peace of Mind by Boston, and life was never quite the same.
^claws, talons, same difference D:
In case musenji's guess is wrong, although it was the first thing that also came to mind, I'll give it a shot too. He only stated the Woo and Have Fun are not part of the riddle, so I'll say the 2nd half has to be considered to confirm whatever guess one wants to take >:
Basically got 5~10 quick ideas due to how much there is to interpret and how differently you can do so, but this one seemed the least farfetched as it actually 'works' with the entire riddle.
guess: Typoon, the summon materia in Ancient Forest.
In order to get me,
you'll need to use your claws.
You need a special chocobo.
Though it may be tedious and akward,
to finally make me yours.
You have to beat Ultimate Weapon. Afterwards, the process in the forest is tedious and awkward.
God damn those plants.
This small ordeal,
could leave you seeing red,
but don't pound your PSX with rage,
instead go to bed!
Typoon is 'red' (ok, he's more pink than red), and imo he sucks.
So you basically do too much for such a summon, which could anger you and make you 'see red'.
If you do smash your console,
into a thousand million bits,
At least salvage something,
from the junk you made of it.
Typoon's skill is kind of like, taking everything around the monster + the monsters then does trippy stuff (disassembles the ground, turning it into 'junk' as it's not filling it's purpose, but uses it to his advantage by flipping the world upside down).
Basically he's making use of whatever he wants, just like how you can still use Typoon even if it's junk.
Nice guesses and you're close but no. I'll give three tiny hints.
Claws = hands, i just wanted it to rhyme. I love the way you thought of chocobo claws (lol talons?) but nah.
The tedious and awkward bit relate to a single task you have to perform in the game (i.e. not a long process like raising a chocobo or navigating the secret garden). You may not have found it as frustrating as I did, and I don't think the squaresoft game developers intended it to be tricky. Just a minor glitch in the game.
The last 4 lines are a bit cryptic and are a simile to something in the game.
----------
"Frogma is not a communist! He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star!"
It must be the one for saving the train. The characters in the game use their hands to pull the levers. the "console" is a metaphor for the train. you even use joysticks! And if you fail, it smashes into a million bits. I don't know why I didn't remember that--I was trying to thing of things that smash in the game. :D
Well, or maybe it is the one from the Rocket, in which case the rocket is the console. it does smash into a million bits, no matter what, and there's a huge graphics bit that shows the "injured" Meteor--with a lot of Red in the picture. And even though it smashes, you get the Materia anyway. Yeah...I kinda suspect Trang's got it.
fwiw apparently the huge materia aren't associated with specific tasks--you get them in a specific order, regardless of what order you do the tasks.
----------
And then I realized that the chord progression from Chrono Cross's Another World is the same progression as the chorus from Peace of Mind by Boston, and life was never quite the same.
This is a mean riddle.
I don't know which idea to post :|
So I'll just try again with the most recent idea I got, although it's far from my favorite, but I got nostalgic remembering Bone Village so... yeah.
Using claws and awkward/tedious process: excavation site at Bone Village, you have to use your hands to dig dig dig
Guess: First you get the Key to Sector 5 to later get Premium Heart (tifa's ultimate weapon).
The reason this instead of the Lunar Harp would be because of the 'junky machine';
The Wall Market vending machine was always broken, but now it's fixed and you get the weapon, just to see it break again.
But then I read your epilogue and immediately thought of Gongaga. Is it the Titan materia?
I found that awkward was kind of out of place in the puzzle but I tried to make sense out of it. Before you get the Titan materia, you have to fight Reno and Rude. The awkwardness comes from them talking about who they would date. I went on youtube to make sure that what I recalled happened in chronological order and low and behold it did. Not only that Scarlet said almost exactly what you said in the epilogue. I guess the tedious part is looking for Dyne in the previous part because it did take me a long f-ing time to figure out how to find him the first time. Or maybe your talking about the chocobo race? Everything else kinda makes sense to me at least with Titan.
in order to get me,
you'll need to use your claws.
Cloud needs to grab the titan materia through a hole. I think there was even an option you had to select for Cloud to "reach in".
Though it may be tedious and akward,
to finally make me yours.
I can see why this might have thrown you off, but I seriously struggle to get the materia, I'm always walking around the spot where I know it is hammering X, and it still takes me forever to get it.
This small ordeal,
could leave you seeing red,
The "red" alludes to the red summon materia.
but don't pound your PSX with rage,
instead go to bed!
Pounding the PSX with rage was a pretty subtle hint at Titan himself, how he is essentially one angry dude.
If you do smash your console,
into a thousand million bits,
At least salvage something,
from the junk you made of it.
This bit related to Gongaga, the smashed console = the smashed reactor. The word "junk" is important because Scarlet appears with Tseng and says they can't salvage anything from the reactor, because you only get junky materia from a junky reactor. I tried to make it even more obvious in the epilogue riddle. This was the biggest clue because if you picked the location I figured there isnt much else there besides titan.
All in all a pretty mean riddle :) Well played Jit.

"Frogma is not a communist! He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star!"
I'm doing both riddles and that's boring so I'll give this one to anyone who has a riddle.
Here's the answer to this one.
Life is invisible to the naked eye - A game with no health bars or hit points. It's realistic as you can die in one hit.
Note: this game is based on an honor system, and if you do not honor your opponents, you can not proceed.
To proceed forward never go behind - It is dishonorable to kill while your facing to your opponent's back
Wait until the chat is done - In this game, you can attack before the fight begins when they are talking to you. Killing them while they are in mid conversation will render the fight null and void.
Overkill will result in death to none - If you kill your opponent fair and square, and you decide to hack away on the dead corpse, then it results as dishonorable and a redo of the match.
Two go together, though one resists,
Both as ones who don't exist.
He determines what's in store,
She's the one from three before.
Choosing her is the "correct" path,
But choose her foe and you'll face her wrath.

And then I realized that the chord progression from Chrono Cross's Another World is the same progression as the chorus from Peace of Mind by Boston, and life was never quite the same.
Eh, if you mess up the code

Great guess, but unfortunately no.
Epilogue to the riddle:
The PSX was great in it's day,
and I don't want to be mean,
but you only get junky parts,
from what is now a junky machine.

The reason this instead of the Lunar Harp would be because of the 'junky machine';

Jit got it! Let me explain it:
in order to get me,
you'll need to use your claws.

Thought of Don Corneo's mansion at first but this made a bit more sense...
Cloud and X member by how you played the disc 1, Cloud resists going on date at first.
Alfred the Legendary Knight(Cloud) and the Captured Princess Rosa(Date)
Cloud chooses his actions.

Of course you're supposed to save the princess.
X would slap you in the face and then KO the EDK.
