Technically perfect, just as usual. I wish I could play as fast and clean as you do, but sometimes I feel like you could bring a bit more of yourself into the music. Listening to this recording remembers me abit of how Guitar Pro plays my TABs: Absolutely clean and accurate, but without any expression; just the whole track note for note unwound.
However, I'd substract a half star for that (your technique sure is godlike), sadly that's not possible so I'll round up to 5. ;)

Hmm, I wonder. I guess you're right...I'll be honest, I get something of "stage fright" being on these videos. I'd rather not make videos at all but people expect them now, so I'm forced to suffer through them. I'll be playing the hell out of these pieces but the moment I get on camera it's mistake after mistake. I really struggle with the pieces and all of my concentration then goes to just making it through it. So that's probably a big part of it. I'm sure playing through the pieces 3 or 4 (literally in the case of this one) times before I record them has something to do with it as well, I don't learn them well enough to forget about the notes and start bringing myself out in the music. It's why I always have sheet music in front of me. That's more of my own problem though, I have a terrible memory.
I will try and do better in the future though. Sorry.
Hah, I know that kind of stage fright when making recordings:
It's like "Oh my god, people will be able to listen to this recording again and again. THEY'LL NOTICE ALL YOUR MISTAKES!!!!!11one" so I focus on getting through without too many mistakes but forget about the mood.
Guess that's one of the reasons why I haven't submitted any more recordings. ^^
I know exactly what you mean, but well, there's no way around it but memorizing and playing it fresh. Sometimes even the first take with a mistake might be better than the last which is technically perfect but not expressive.
On the other hand, the battle theme should be pretty rhythmic, and I think you did this well. Besides, there are tons of guitarists who have no respect for the rhythm, and you certainly aren't one of them. So, think of it as an asset. :)
You're a god !

Kabukibear, your technique
Kabukibear, your technique is cleaner than the bullet wound I left in Sniper Wolf's lung.
