It would sound better if you held the notes for their full values. A lot of notes sound very staccato, which doesn't feel appropriate.

thanks auri. yeah, I definately had some difficulty with letting the notes higher up the frets ring, part is thanks to my guitars shitty action, and the other part is just my weak fingers and probably a lack of practice.

If not, then... Well it sounds like you only used your index to hold the strings, releasing immediately after you played the note which makes the sound really flat.

Try to let the strings ring for some time.

Two stars is way too low for such a minor gripe. Way too nitpicky.

Notes did feel a little staccato but I don't think it deserves 2 stars. 2 stars is 40%, thats like an F- on crack.

I didn't like how it sounds at some parts. I could also give 5 stars and tell everyone how much I love that recording and that lemon could absolutely be satisfied with it.
But I don't think so, instead there's still 3 stars left in terms of improvement :/

I mean, I think the whole stars thing is kinda meh to begin with and the feedback is more important. However if THIS is a 2 star recording to you, then what is 0 stars or 1 star? It just seems like you have no sense of scale. Like either the recording is flawless or it's garbage.

In essence is what you are saying is that Lemon is missing 60% of the song because the notes didn't ring out properly. That's stretching it a bit. Also, don't just tell people they suck, tell them why they suck. You have no idea how much time Lemon may have put into this so to call her recording a "joke" makes you seem like kind of a tool.

Sorry for being harsh but...yeah.

We don't have to agree on that, I just think theres plenty of room for improvement :| Well I didn't want to sound like a douche with the joke comment (although I failed at that :s) but I read the videodescription and saw the date and my thoughts just went ahead :s

And it's not about total trash and glorious perfection, I don't have a catalogue of "how-to-rate-a-recording" points that I check beforehand. 2 Stars just felt right to me, even when much effort was put into this, that doesnt force me to like it as much as you do. So, yeah, it's 40% for me.

Opinion accepted ? Or do we have to really discuss that ?

Hmmm, I don't see how this recording warrants 2 stars. 2 stars would imply random pauses and missed notes - which this seems to have neither. A video alongside the recording would make it easier to determine the difficulty of the piece you're playing - and people would rate accordingly. Having no video makes one more prone to harsh criticism.

Many notes aren't pronounced fully, which takes much away from the life of the performance and rarely does the music justice. I don't think Ennea's completely in the wrong in his rating - though I think he rated as one would entertainment rather than a fellow's effort. Since we are a community I think ratings should be made foremost in mind of the latter. The stacatto notes are a shame, but it's still a pretty good effort - there were no pauses, the pace was good and you played it all the way to the end. Just try to give notes their full duration wherever possible.

to be honest, I think my biggest mess up was in the actual arranging of the notes themselves. I tried to avoid barring notes at certain points (stupid idea) but that made alot of it sound jump, and to make matters worse, alot of the notes were between the 5-9 frets, and my guitar needs some work done on it to make the action a little lower. I'll make sure to keep these things in mind next time I record, and thanks for your comment bhael!
