You've got a nice execution in the details (shading, lines, and so on) but the overall design is lacking I think. It looks like the thing he's wearing on his chest to hold the sword on his back is pushing his right arm out of its socket, so he looks a bit uncomfortable. Also, the cuts in his tunic make it look kind of like a pleated skirt. The ear should start about nose height and go up to the eye, rather than starting at the eye. Also, that dress makes him look fat.

I'm very confused, what did I do wrong now? What I meant by surprised earlier is that I was surprised by all the hateful comments. I wasn't trying to be an overconfident asshole. I never said I was the best artist out there, I just put that drawing on here because I thought it was cool, but apparently not. |

Nah, the two really nice ones are photo manipulations. Using cloning brushes and textures to create a faux-oil painted look. Takes time, but nothing like actually painting. I DID, try and paint from scratch today to practice. Started these:
So as you can see my ACTUAL painting ability is severely lacking. Still, up until now I've only ever used a pencil to sketch things out and, to be honest, the last time I drew anything was like 8 years ago, so while it looks pretty shitty, I feel like I have a foundation I can grow upon if I keep at it :X I also sketched this tonight, trying out the pencil brushes:

I'm taking Art 2 this year and this is our 2nd project it's called the personal identity project(you're supposed to draw things you like, things that are important to you, places you want to go, things that you believe in, etc...)
I'm still not completely done though...
