I am meeting Nobuo Uematsu on July 15

Hi, I have used this awesome site for a while but only now made an account because I will be attending a distant worlds concert on July 15th and 16th and meeting Nobuo Uematsu and wanted to see if you guys had any ideas for stuff to ask him. I am an extremely huge fan of his and I have a few ideas for stuff to ask him but I wanted to see if you had any as well. I am probably also going to bring an original copy of the ff7 ost booklet for him to sign. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Haha, Jeanette is a funny little man. Well why don't you ask him if he needs to reach
"Limit Break" before he can go to the toilet.

Anyway's seriously maybe you can ask him how he get's his creative inspiration,
what are some of his favourite chord progressions, his advice
for aspiring composers? I know these are pretty generic
questions, but can't think up of anything else. The man is a legend.

aks him how he came to the idea of becoming a pro-wrestler :P

I really want to know what he does feel when composing something happy, sad, cheerful, calming. does he just doing something or does he dive into his own world lol. are there any guidelines how this specific song has to be or does the game adept to his music. does he rather work alone or enjoying composing with others, what is his favourite soundtrack of other games ect.

think about what you would like to be asked as a composer, make him happy :>

*Sigh* I missed his consert

*Sigh* I missed his consert in sweden by 10 days or so :/ I would have loved seeing the greatest game music composer that has ever existed (no, it is not debatable so don't try it).

No but I would definetly first of all thank him with all my heart that he didn't become a pro-wrestler but choose the music path. And if you play guitar (doubt you'd be here if you didn't but...) and can bring it or atleast a piece of it (the detachable plate on the back of electric guitars for example or a pick guard) I would not want to miss the chance of having his signature on my instrument.

Okies, Few quizs:
1- What do you think of gametabs.net?
2- Is it true that you will handle the composition of FFXIV OSTs or is it just a viral rumor?
3- Is there's any plans that you will do another concert with your attendance @LA and when??

@Jacob31593 Totally LOL @the finisher!!

@Maikoi92 Maybe u should plan for a trip to japan someday, you'll also meet more than uematsu, etc. other japanese VGOST composers, and lonlonjp, the person who i dream to learn guitar under his guidance.

Dale: Have you heard the numerous fan arrangements of your music out there on the internet? It's kind of like our version of the Japanese doujin music scene. If so, what are your feelings on this music?

Uematsu: I'm honored. According to law, legally, it's no good. Square Enix doesn't like it [giggles], but I don't mind. More people are listening and appreciating my music.

Guys, chill out, i just didn't mention, What do you think of (the great arrangers of) gametabs.net?
Which means, great arrangers such as...(we already know who they're), cause i forgot to!! :(

It's something like: i wounder if they well they have the honor to join the rosters of the SE musicians?
It's not about copyright cess...whatever, anyway sorry for the laziness!! XD

Hey now, my "copyright cesspool" comment was more of a joking way to say what strangejam did XD. In all seriousness, his personal feelings about any fan site are most likely 100% exact to Auri's qoute.

That being said, the crux of why it probably is not a good idea to bring it up is pretty much also stated in Auri's quote: "According to law, legally, it's no good. Square Enix doesn't like it" and the fact that Uematsu is so closely tied with the company.

I wonder why Uematsu is the only VG music composer who composed approximately 100 songs per game :-D

Aaaaaah there are SO MANY questions to ask him !!!

I think that if Uematsu knew GameTabs.net he would have already invited some tabbers to have dinner with him in Japan =D

So thank you all for your great question ideas. When I arrived at the meet and greet I had the list in my hand (on my phone) and was ready to fire away a select few. When I hadn't counted on was that about two hundred people had payed the extra $75 for the meet and greet tickets and I was very near the end of the line. It took about two hours for me to get in there and meet him and when I did he it was extremely brief and he looked very overwhelmed so I wasn't really able to ask him anything. Also he barely spoke any English at all. I only had time to tell him that I had just started producing game music myself and he asked, "Professional?" To which I replied, "Independent." Then I told him I wouldn't be doing it if it weren't for him and I thanked him. I did manage to get the most important thing done, though, which was getting his signature on my FFVII OST booklet.

Again thank you all for the suggestions and I'm sorry it didn't work out the way I had planned.

Mitsuda was epic, sadly he has lost his touch.
