FFIX - Kuja's Theme

So, I thought this was called Desert Palace, but apparently it is Kuja's Theme or Kuja's Theme - Millenium Version...

Why the weird rythm? its just triplet all the way imo :)

I'd put it in 12/8. Any time

I'd put it in 12/8. Any time you're using triplets for the entire song, you probably want a compound meter instead :-)

But Rex is right, it's definitely not E. E. E, it's E E E

What do you mean by that sentence auri? :S

Triplets (or any type of tuplet) are used when you are breaking the normal rhythm of the song. If triplets *are* the normal rhythm, you shouldn't write them as triplets, you should use a compound meter like 6/8 or 9/8 or 12/8. That's what compound meter is for :-)

I'm self taught so some of your wisdom is lost on me...would it be easier to just scrap what i have and start from scratch? Or can i just change the time signature and make changes?

It's easy enough to fix.

It's easy enough to fix. Your tab in 12/8:

kuja's theme in 12/8

You might want to check over the notes, though. Like the open fifth string in measure 10, for example.

Anyway, see how it groups the notes up into four groups of 3 notes each, all of equal length? That's what compound time is (4 x 3, in this case).

So, here is the revised version, with one note changed...
Thank You, Rex LeRouge And Auriplane, very much.

Also, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to mark the triplets with these things "|-3-|"...

Oh, DUH! There aren't triplets anymore, are they?

you should take some time to

you should take some time to learn musical theory, its really important :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_signature

So, as auriplane said before, triplets ( |3| ) are used with a binary rhythm ( 4/4, 2/4, ...)
if you use a ternary rhythm ( 6/8, 12/8, ...) , 8th notes are already grouped by 3, so you don't have to use |3|

hope its clear, i'm not used to explain these things in english :S

I understand, but yeah, i know theory is important I'm just lazy... I will delve into it though...Hopefully, sooner than later. Thank you, again, Rex LeRouge.
