Tune Contest 79: Lost Winter Love

Winter. A time of the year when the crisp and cold air embraces everyone. A time where families and lovers gather around the fire and embrace each other. Such is not the case for Lano. The one he loved was taken away from him before he had a chance to spend any time. The details were still a mystery to him. His mind was clouded and his body was numb. All around him, he could only hear and see people together enjoying their time with their family and loved ones. It only increased the pain and loneliness in his heart. He wanted to leave the town and head to the forest to be alone but he could not muster the strength to move. He sat there, silently watching the world as frozen tears streamed from his eyes.

There we have it. The theme for this contest is Lost Winter Love.

Instrumentation: As you see fit

Had some ideas already, but I'll get to this one for real after I get my hands on my new guitar after christmas. I'll be away from my setup until beginning of next year.

Meanwhile I did some testing and ended up with Mushrooms in the Rain with the stuff I picked for sale during the last contest. Not related to this thread, but here it is anyway!

Alrighty, time for the results! My words will probably be a bit on the short side.

Giovanniac - No Light: The first 30 or so seconds caught me off guard. It really sticks out, I must say. But then the piano comes in and things begin to clear up! I can begin to imagine a cold winter. You painted a pretty nice musical picture here. The drums and bass are an interesting and fitting addition. It does start to get a bit repetitive, though. That could have been intentional, though.

GuyWithAGuitar - Outpost: An interesting take on the theme, this is. It's quite dark and haunting. I can imagine this fitting a Silent Hill game or another horror game. You did some pretty interesting things with the guitar. I can't say that it makes think of "Lost Winter Love" though. At least, not in the way that I had in mind. But it's not a bad piece of music. As I said, I can imagine this fitting in a horror game of some sort. Keep at it and you'll continue to improve :)

Aha, a thread that was closed on time?

Unfortunately I was completely separated from my recording possibilities so couldn't do more than jam and think about the tune during the last few weeks.

Back to full capability now, though, with new toys.

Thanks!! I would wait a bit more too because surely someone would do something more cool than mine song hahaha
I really did it to sound noisy and "ambient", a little repetitive I admit. So I will think about what will come next, thanks!!
