I watch anime mostly for the music ... and all the anime that Studio Ghibli made had the best music ( music by Joe Hisaishi ) ... and the anime from Minori ( music by Tenmon ).
Also watch : Full Metal Alchemist ( FMA and FMAB ), DB,DBZ,DBGT, Naruto, Naruto Shippuden and Bleach.
Nodame Cantabile - Great if you like humor mixed with classical music
Cowboy Bebop - I still haven't finished it but I've liked every episode
Ergo Proxy - Thought it was a bit weird. Didn't quite understand it, but it was different and interesting.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Interesting. Aired out of order so I put it in order. Funny and unique.
Fullmetal Alchemist - The first anime I watched more than 12 episodes in a one sitting (I was home sick.) awesome.
Paranoia Agent - really REALLY cool. you should see it.
Blue Submarine No. 6 - good shit. and short for you ADD fuckers.
Last Exile - GREAT anime. Got someone who didn't like anime into watching multiple eps at a time with this one.
Samarai Champloo - really cool stylistically and visually. Well done!
Tokyo Godfathers - Really interesting movie.
Toradora! - Love story but hilarious.
Welcome to N.H.K. - COOL.
Haijime no Ippo - This one is just great. It's a boxing anime but you see the guy progress from being a complete nobody to being the best. It's nice to see an anime where the guy works hard, gets really strong, and kicks ass. Usually once the main character gets stronger suddenly everyone else becomes stronger and they get their ass kicked again.
1: Elfenlied (German for "elf song" or something like that; somebody knows it? It's very thrilling/gripping. I watched the 13 eps all at once.)
2: Death Note (Almost watch all at once)
3: Full Metal Panic (Fumoffu) (Man, those make me laugh every time)
4: Detective Conan (Nothing to say^^)
One Piece Anime (its not because i dont like the manga im just patient enought to wait for a week)
School Rumble both anime and manga
Full Metal Alchemist older anime
Azumanga Daioh
maybe Naruto (its hanging by a thread. its sometimes eye-gouging terrible and sometimes good)
Love Hina ( it has a...good plot...yeah..)
Wakusei samidare ( or Lucifer and Biscuit hammer)
Megane-chan to Yankee-kun
I'm don't care for anime seeing as I never have enough time to watch it all, but my favorite mangas are as follows:
1. Samurai Champloo - It has a really awesome/funky/cool feel to it.
2. Fooly Cooly - It's so random you can't help but love it.
3. Katekyo Hitman Reborn - Pretty cool storyline, and I like the drawing style.
4. Trigun - I like how it's a futuristic cowboy setting. Not to mention Vash is full of win.
5. Psyren - The storyline is pretty good and the fight scenes are alright.
That's all for me right now, but you guys have some pretty interesting choices. I might check some out later.

2) Saint Seiya (haven't watched it all yet, though)

4. Hajime no Ippo
5. Great Teacher Onizuka
6. Blue Gender
