I think this is a serious cause for depression. I've been in the same situation and I understand how you had to, man. |

I understand you, it's not only you who feel depressed because of the situation. I also know this feeling. Calmerry helps me to deal with this. I don’t know what I would do on my own, because online therapy is great support for me and that helps me regain faith in myself. |

It's time to introduce myself ;)
My name is André, i'm 23 years old and i'm from the south of Germany (Bavaria, yay^^).
I started playing the guitar, mostly fingerstyle, at the age of 7 and took private lessons until the age of 14/15.
The reason i stopped playing was that at this time i really hated the guitar.
My teacher's batshit insane finger excercise drillings and parents who forced you to take the lessons, since they paid a lot of money, was too much for the naive kid i was.
In retrospect i think i missed a great opportunity there.
Anyway, 5 month ago my girlfriend breaked up with me after 4 years and i was some kind of depressed. And what do you do if you're depressed? Right, playing the guitar ;)
And i really sucked^^
Eight years without real practice isn't good for your skill at all. And i almost stopped playing again since i was far away from that what i was able to play back then and that fact was almost as depressing as the break up^^
By a fluke however, a friend of me showed me a video of Sungha Jung playing "Dune" by Bob Evans. And, damn, the song "Dune" is one of the best songs i've ever heard and i really wanted to learn it.
If you don't know it, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRyEr16bsGs
So i started again with basic right and left hand excercises and some of my teacher's "drillings" i remembered, and after three months i was finally able to play "Dune".
What a nice feeling it was :)
The passion was back, and now i'm playing all day long and i think i'm really in love with my two guitars (An Ovation Std Elite, and an Aria nylon string) =D
I'm still not even half as good as i was with 13 but the skill is slowly coming back^^
And here i am, because playing old school RPGs on the SNES is my second passion ;)
I've already submitted two fingerstyle arrangements i made:

feel free to criticise. I'm still an arrangement noob ;)
And if you have some spare time check out my "band". It's mostly electronica with some rock and classical influences.
