I've been laying some groundwork on the medley, seeing as I got a new bass (guitar is probably coming on my birthday) so maybe I can give you guys a taste ;)
Also I moved Song Of Healing out of the beginning because I thin ki would fit better elsewhere.
Hope you all had a good Christmas and that everyone's songs are coming together nicely!
Quick question, I was looking back at some of my zelda covers and there are a few covers that I really like, can I only submit one or could I use multiple? They are skyloft, my twilight princess acoustic medley and either Lost woods or twinrova (i can't decide which of the two is better).
Hey it's really nice man !
Changes from the many metal songs here ^^
Love the rhythm guitar :D
Can you send the .wav instead of the .mp3 please?
Did you find some time to work on our Song of Storm arrangement? :p
Amazing tones man ! Your arrangement is so... hum how to say it... tssssh t-t-tsssssh t-t-tsssssh :D
If you've made those toens with podfarm i wanna know your secret ._.
Well i'll get back home (was at my mom's house for the christmas week) i'll be able to make a video trailer of the album with parts of those nice covers :)
Yeah I think I went a bit overkill on the ride cymbal!
And no, the tones were my JCM600 and the only changes were the guitar I used and I added a tubescreamer for the driven part. I really struggled to get a good jazz clean out of the line 6 modelling and my JCM isn't exactly a jazz amp either but I think they sounded not bad.
It feels good to catch up on all the previews and entries that I've missed, I hardly had time to check the forum over the holidays. There is some awesome stuff being submitted :)
I've decided to do a Wind Waker medley or mini medley, not as long as SirBlambleofGam's (he's just insane... jk). I'm figuring out the song list tomorrow and will update with what songs I picked!
Alrighty so I picked the songs for my Wind Waker medley that I will hopefully finish...hopefully... This isn't necessarily the song order.
Also, I know there are already people doing Dragon Roost Island and Aryll's Theme, so if me doing them too is a problem just let me know and I'll replace them with something else :)
3.35 : EPIC !!! That's the kind of slow but badass riff i love :D
Everything after that is damn powerful.
Near 8min is a bit violent for me haha ^^
Great work ! A close to 10 min medley, everything in fitting together perfectly.
Well done ! We almost reached the 80 minutes of music, which is the maximum length for a CD
So should we stop it now or make that 2 CD album a thing? :D
OF COURSE HAHA
Stopping was a joke :D Here is my 1st entry !
Might go right after yours on the album to have a moment of rest for those poor headbanging necks haha :D
Ok gonna note some tabs I'm interested in so that I don't forget them.
Zora's Domain by jordanVS
Market Theme by Kabukibear
Saria's Song (j0sephyu ver.) by auriplane
Sheiks Theme by lemoncobbler
Kotake & Koumes Theme by cyan
Lost Woods alttp version by diralark
Zeldas Lullaby by OggirtMoonfrad (although we might have too much of that)
Don't know if I will be playing all of them or if I'm able to produce a satisfying sound with every track so we will see how it goes from there.
With all the server problems i've lost a bit the count of the songs done or in project so please if you are not on the list in the 1st page, tell me :)
Haawke told me i can use their "Song of Healing" cover for the album :D
And Jonas Lefvert will do the same :D
I'm really excited, this album is going to be BIG in term of quality !
Here is my new song : KAKARIKO VILLAGE
Okay, i just finished the arrangement for Grandma's theme. I will record this one in the week.
Also, I think i will change my mind on Hidden Village and do the end credits of Ocarina of Time instead (if someone doesn't work on this one ^^).
See you next week for my first entry =)
Ok noted :D
Well i think i'll give a try with Hidden Village, it's in my favorite songs :)
Damn if i do all the songs i wanna do i'll end with 7 songs on the album XD
Cleseph, as i said on youtube, send a .wav or .mp3 here please :)
ABOUT THE ALBUM
So we got more than 1h40 of music and still a month to go !
If we ever get more than 2h40 of music (maximum for 2 CD) i'll delete 2 or 3 of my tracks (as i plan to do between 5 and 7 songs) to let everybody have their songs on it ^^
I'll post a 2nd trailer tomorrow and give you the file so, if you wish, you can put it on your channel too
I've asked a friend to do an original cover for the album.
If you know some people who can do art works or graphic artists you can aks them too, and we'll pick the best work :) (and add the others in the album file as "bonus art")
What order for the songs on the album ?
It can be by:
- Alphabetical order
- Length
- Music style
- Games in alphabetical order
- Games following the years they came out
The last one is my favorite and when you got 2 covers of the same song i'll pick one of them and put them at the end of CD2. I'll make my choice following if the cover artist already got many songs on the CD or for that game etc.
About the song volume balance
As most of you guys sent .wav i think i'll use Audacity, import the songs "normalize" them at -3Db and then export in .wav, so no quality loss. And then put them into 320kbs Mp3 for the final file.
Does it sounds good to you? Or got better ideas ?
So as 0ZeroDL told me i did a Faron Woods cover ^^
Might be not what he expected when he said it would fits my style hahaha xD Faron Woods
I 1st wanted to go clean, but the song told me (yes, yes!) it didn't want to stay clean so...
also it's the 1st time i try to record and mix with cubase, could be a bit messy
Here's my first entry for the album. I've record and mix with an other software too. Bye Mixcraft, welcome Reaper =)
