Yeah, well I am a student in a German International School in a city called Jeddah, in Saudi-Arabia, the place with the slowest internet connection ever (20Kbits/s to 28Kbits/s). But this year I'll graduate and continue in home country of Germany.

You guys make me feel too young to be on this site. I'm a freshman in highschool taking AP courses in history, geometry, biology and english. Eith the few spare time i have i play guitar, practice for band and come to this site every so often.

I do mostly client services and some systems/infrastructure work for a trademark and copyright research company. I would rather be in an industry where I have more personal enthusiasm, but in this climate I'm happy to have a job and be able to live comfortably (by my standards!) Planning on hitting GDC next month to broaden my horizons for when the fiscal climate thaws a little, though :) |

The games track is actually pretty new here. They did it to increase enrollment for Comp sci courses. It's pretty much the exact same courses as the other 2 tracks here (both of which, you end up working for Tsys). If you really want a school with a focus in game development, google polytech. |

I'm a test engineer at an electronics place. We make all kinds of oddd little bits of tech; proximity detectors, photo-electrics, timed slip switches. Mainly used for industrial means, really. My job entails that I actually make sure that the things are working before you ship 'em out. Rather boring if components have been placed onto boards the right way, hilarious when they're wrong and explode on you. Or course you to have a 240v AC electic shock. Or melt... But of an arse trying to fix somethings mind, usually it's the simplest things that'd cause a whole heap of problems. |

Hehe, I'm 27, I worked at a dot com for most of the decade, and right now I am not working and am just working on music. I'm a programmer--but I didn't chime in on the programming thread because I don't know anything about the languages he asked about, and also because I'm reluctant to volunteer my time ;-) I am very geeky. In conclusion, I am very lazy and should probably get a job, but I keep thinking maybe I can eventually make money off music somehow and won't have to. ;-)

I know my job is on pins and needles right now they have been laying off a bunch of people and if GM falls well, I think I'll be out of a job. When the big 3 messed up (not so much Ford) as the other 2. We diesel fleet techs took a hard it but were still standing barly.

Computer stuff. Any and all of it besides fabrication of parts. I go to school for Physics & Comp Sci though. Also do systems administration for moneys, and a couple of hobby game projects (no moneys =[). |

I'm 27 and I work at a small town newspaper in Oklahoma setting up ads and laying out pages. I finished my bachelor's degree in Math in 2006 but have been unable to figure out what to do with it. My location has a lot to do with that, but I'm certainly not married to this horrible, boring place. ;p I also work part-time at a local university branch tutoring students in Math. That's a bit more fulfilling than my newspaper job. :) Aside from work I play video games, play guitar and piano, like movies, and enjoy science and history (and TV shows having anything to do with all of the above). |

Age: 20. I work at a family auto shop. Did some College, but figured it wouldn't do me any good since I like my life calm and peaceful. Even though, I wouldn't categorize myself over the matter of my mind simply not working under one category. Someday I hope to be some sort of Theologian (As in Studying the Bible and other stuff), and study the Origin of Species and everything to do with Science, Biology, Astronomy, Abiogenesis, etc. Most of all, I'd like to open a studio and pursue a homemade musical destiny. Knowledge is Power.

I just started an internship at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. So far I've done absolutely nothing here, but learn the C programming language. Which is why I am posting in this thread from work. At the end of the summer I will return to school and my old part time job as a web developer for the school.

I work for a company that ships materials for Oil and Gas refineries all around the world. I went to college for 2 years and my laid back attitude to work outside of class caused me to get bad grades. I prefer work in sense that once you have clocked out, you do not need to think about it until you have clocked back in again the next day. I wish I was back at college though, I'm certainly thinking of going back! |
