That makes sense to me. I was considering changing the way the requests are displayed to better give the unfulfilled requests more attention. After all I made the new request system for that purpose. The only other thing I'd like to do is make it so that if a request hasn't gotten a response after a certain amount of time, say a week or a month, then it will be moved to a list of defunct requests. So what does everyone else think?

I don't know about defunct. Someone might decide to do a request after like 3 months or something, and it'd still be okay I think. They could become "Old requests" and have a button to move them back into the queue, though, so people can let the site know they're still around and still want that tab. If you had that button, I'd be all for the defunct thing. Another idea is to show the requests in random order. That way things have a chance of being seen that might otherwise blend ni for some reason. You could highlight a few "New" ones and "Expiring soon" ones or something at the top, or whatever you want to emphasize. I think it'd be good to have the 10 or so newest requests at the top all the time though. You could also let people do a thumbs up on requests or whatever to show that more people want one. I don't know, I have a bunch of ideas but I don't know what's best!

Hmm, those are some interesting suggestions auri. I think there's a lot of possibilities to how this thing can be structured. I can definitely have separate lists for defunct and non-defunct requests. I can make it so that if a request goes a certain amount of time without any replies, it will be moved to the defunct list, but as soon as someone makes a post it will be moved to the normal list. I can definitely do the randomized order thing. I think I can do the expiring soon thing at the top. The thumbs up thing is also possible... maybe a digg/reddit voting style? What I'd like to do for sure is put a list of links at the top of the page that allow you to filter out the list you see. Instead of the confusing "Show fulfilled?" drop down, I'll have at least 3 buttons up there, one for defunct requests, one for latest requests, and one for expiring soon. Or something along those lines. I like the ideas, keep em coming :D

I'd like to see the wanted tab style (acoustic or electric) in the list of requests. That would make it easier to find suitable requests for me since I can't do anything about requests for electric guitar tabs. |

I was thinking kind of on the same lines. I was looking through the requests and went ahead and did one, but a lot of them gave me no direction as to what the person wanted, and the music itself was too complicated to infer. I didn't know if they just wanted the melody or if they wanted me to arrange the entire thing. I don't know that it would need to be some kind of filter or button or whatever, but it should be made clear that the person requesting needs to be very specific as to what in the piece they want and how. For example with simple stuff: "Mario Bros Overworld Theme - Single line melody" versus "Mario Bros Overworld Theme - Fully Arranged" Especially since modern music is moving towards huge complicated orchestral stuff with many moving parts. The more complicated the music requested, the more detailed the request should be. |

I think that it would work out better if the request system showed the older requests (that aren't fulfilled) first, otherwise requests that are new bog them down. It just makes more sense that the ones who requested first should be at the top, rather then the new ones "cutting" in line.
