Already said it on youtube but again: Pretty big news, congratulations on that chance. Gothic series are pretty much the games of my childhood/teen years, must've played them 8 times over. It's nice to see how all the producers are starting their own music collections now, really liked Mitsudas Kirite and I'm also really looking forward to Jeremy Soule's The Northener, so Kais addition with your part is very welcome to me, hope you will enjoy it :D |

Cheers, I'm also looking forward to The Northerner! Paul Romero is also intending to do a Heroes of Might and Magic symphony, previewing it next year in Poland I believe, but I suspect we have a while to wait for that one.

I actually never played any might and magic game, and if I wanted to I wouldn't know where to start @[email protected] Seeing the old interface it kinda reminded me of Lands of Lore. |
Nice!! :-)

Proud and jealous. You've come a long way, and you've brought honor to the community. Good luck, we all know you'll make quality contributions to the album. |
Thank you both! :)Ennea -

Thank you both! :) Ennea - yeah the Might and Magic rpg is very similar to Lands of Lore, though perhaps the first of it's kind. I was actually referring to the turn based strategy spinoff franchise Heroes of Might and Magic, which is known for its aesthetics and awesome soundtrack. I'd suggest starting with the third game, which is pretty much timeless in every aspect! On a side note my favourite game of the rpg series is For Blood and Honor, which alongside it's predecessor has Paul Romero as the composer.

I know the majority of you aren't western rpg geeks like me, but you might remember the music of the Gothic series, particularly this track: http://youtu.be/DLyqSQhS6E0 Those of you who have played Risen may also recognise this track by the same composer: http://youtu.be/oX9dkvrjPFs
The composer behind these games, Kai Rosenkranz, is going to launch a kickstarter for his new album this summer. For now he has created a facebook page for people to follow the progress of this project, and stay updated through the entire process. If you're a fan of either of these soundtracks I highly recommend heading over to facebook and showing your support: https://www.facebook.com/kairosenkranzmusic Here's a video message from Kai introducing the project: http://youtu.be/kcdhj1HVpJI
The album will include some experienced musicians who Kai has worked with in the past... and me!!! http://youtu.be/rN8hdgR48PE
To go alongside this announcement I made a video message of my own, though I think I need more practice at the whole 'talking to the camera' thing: http://youtu.be/-q5zhYpOG98
