If you want to learn scales, then here are some roughly in order of importance: The most important scale is the diatonic (major) scale, which has seven modes. The pentatonic scale is also very easy to learn and useful, and it has five modes. Beyond that, you'd want to learn the melodic and harmonic minor scales (which are variations on the diatonic scale), the octatonic (diminished) scale, the chromatic scale (easy!), the whole tone scale, and the blues scale. All of these are movable, so you can play them starting on different notes. You may want to start out just learning the major scale in one easy key like E, A, G, or C. (I don't really know what this has to do with anime.)
