I think this has been discussed before... no, the track listings from Guitar Hero won't be put up. Even though they're from video games, they're not really video game songs. Plus I'm sure every song from those games has been tabbed thousands of times over on ultimate-guitar.com, mxtabs.net, etc.

But aren't the Guitar Hero songs a remix version, or like, a new version They're not exactly the same really Like for instance, I like Thin Lizzy (forgot song) on GH3, but not the actual version Although I agree this is not the place for GH tabs, but I wouldn't entirely rule them out as Video Game Songs That's kind of on the line lol

I would say the song has to be written specifically for the game it's being played on to be considered a video game song. But I would make an exception if it's a remix of a song that was written specifically for a game, like the Halo remix Krimson suggested.

The only reason I can see GH/RB songs being on here is if you did things like the openings to GH1/2/3, which were written specifically for GH, as were the Battle songs in 3 (Including Devil Went Down to Georgia). In fact, all of them were written by the same guy. Trogdor on GH2 and Timmy on RB were also remixed specifically for the games. And of course the Halo, GOW, and WOW songs that came to GH3 were also specific. Other than that, all the songs were not remixed anywhere beyond a re-recording with a substitute singer. But to those people that want a list of tabs to do, but don't know any games that haven't been tabbed, I have three specific ones that I'd like tabbed, which I will also post in the requests section. Lunar: Silver Star Story - Namely Althena's Song, Luna's Theme, Battle, Boss, Intro, Boat Song, and Kyle's Theme Lunar 2: Eternal Blue - Opening, Ending, Battle, Boss, Lemina's Theme, and Encounter with Zophar Thunder Force IV (also known as Lightening Force: Quest for the Darkstar) - THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK!

Yeah I agree with Arch here. While I don't consider the music in GH or any of it's sequels to be "game," music, I think that if the song in question is a REMIX of something that came from a game there would be no problem with it. Unless Arch decided to branch off into a section of more general tabs that aren't from games, I think it has to be this way to keep the site focused. |
