Site Project - SSBB

Alright, I personally think it'd be a great idea to get as many people from this site as we can to join and tab the SSBB soundtrack in it's entirity. The first order of business should be to assign roles to tabbers. We could take a group of tabbers and assign them a certain section of songs based on the serial codes, or we could just go with the "dibs" system. The ultimate goal of this project should be to complete the entire OST as accurately as possible within the shortest amount of time.

Now I'm not saying we can't have people tab the same song more than once but it would be much better if we had people choose which songs they would like to tab based on serial code letter, group those people together and have them decide amongst themselves which songs each would tab based on experience in both playing AND tabbing guitar music. Also with this system it'd be much easier to get an opinion from a teammate on a tab in progress than how poeple usually just post it in the forums and wait for a response.

There are a lot of fans of the SSBB soundtrack out there and I'm sure many might be drawn to play the guitar after hearing so many of the guitar heavy tracks. If we can get the entire OST tabbed think of how many regular visitors this site could get. not only for the tabs but for the co-operation this community is capable of. But this only a proposal. It all comes down to whether you guys are up for it.

Are you?

I was gonna wait till I put up the shiny new layout this weekend to start this off, but that's ok, I'm glad someone besides me took the initiative to start this :). I'm all for this no doubt, SSBB is a perfect OST to do something like this for. I don't have time to lay out any of the details of how I think it should go down right now though. I'll be back in this thread later.

I support this very very very much. Love the OST. The problem is, many of the songs are old ones remixed, so what I'm thinking is rather than remixing the remix, I'd like to create a mix of the original track instead; like #1: SMB overworld, though it's a piano mix. Needs more guitar.

I think it should be based on the songs as they appear in the Brawl OST. They're mostly all remixes, but they're so epic. Of course, you can choose to arrange a track, and then you have liberty to tab it however you want.

I like the 'dibs' system. I think we should just make a list of all the songs and people can just claim whichever songs they want.

I do want to have some quality requirements for this project. For example, I think all tabs need to be made in some sort of tabbing program like Guitar Pro or Power Tab. Power Tab is free and both are very easy to use, so there should be no reason not to. Also, I think if you're making an electric transcription/arrangement, there needs to be at least 2 tracks: a lead and a harmony. If you make a classical style arrangement then of course 1 track is OK. But there must be at least two voices involved in your tab no matter style you make it.

Sounds like a good idea. But we really should get some more people on board with the project. Perhaps you should make a news announcement about it.

The dibs system will work I suppose. Though I think we should still exchange better methods of communication for everyone involved in the project. because not only would it be great for the site. but it'd be good experience. And it'd be much better if newbies could ask people to check whatever they're working on.

The F-Zero parts are fxxx metal. They're all guitar solo with power chord backings.
