Another one of those "looking for new music" threads

Forum topic says it all :P

I realize that these threads usually die and get lost somewhere, but I'm going to try to make an effort to post some new tunes here once a week or on some other somewhat regular basis just for kicks. I'm not necessarily gonna do any summarizing or review type thing. Maybe a few personal comments, but besides that it'll just be a link.

Feel free to share anything you think is interesting, good, funny, a musical masterpiece, whatever. I'm pretty much willing to give anything a shot, whether it be something like one of my personal favorites, or something I'd normally be driven away from. That said, I'm not going to bother mentioning what genres I have a tendency to listen to more or less. However some people here may have an idea anyway though some mean or another.

So let's get this thing started, shall we?

I'll start off with Emancipator. Discovered this artist earlier this year and I've yet to get tired of it. Even bought the vinyls and stuff.

https://emancipator.bandcamp.com/album/dusk-to-dawn-2

Maybe it's just me, but I kinda feel like track 8 (Eve II) could fit nicely in FFX in the snowy mountain area. Track 9 (Natural Cause) kind of gives me a bit of a Silent Hill 1 Lisa's Theme mood, well the first 10 seconds or so at least.

Okay I don't have music to contribute yet, but I have to say that that part in FFX where you are running away on the long, curved ice path, and the snow mountains are going by in the background, is one of the most gorgeous scenes I've seen in a video game.

But, I haven't played any games newer than FFXII. So maybe that's why.

And then I realized that the chord progression from Chrono Cross's Another World is the same progression as the chorus from Peace of Mind by Boston, and life was never quite the same.

To be honest, game music hasn't been catching my attention these days. It probably doesn't help that I haven't really been playing anything new lately lol. It also doesn't help that a lot of these modern graphics give me motion sickness. Playing through Beyond: Two Souls was practically torture, and that was barely a video game. Damn you Quantic Dream. I really enjoyed Abadis Forest. I'm assuming it's a battle theme?

And to add onto my contributions
House of Waters - Agnolim

Only recent game with decent music is the new Assassin's Creed imo, although the shanties probably play a huge part in it :^) If you have motion sickness do it like me an catch up to some classics! I played through Baldurs Gate 2 couple of month ago and it's probably the best game I've played in 3 or 4 years, made me a sucker for the D&D rpg's like Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights etc.

Only short fuse is a battle theme, rest is over/underworld. Would definitly recommend if you can get yur hands on it.

By the way, thanks for uploading that Mono song to your youtube, great band I never heard about. Will probably buy their album with my christmas money 8D

The intro has a Mono/Explosions in the Sky kinda feel. Then, it picks up. I don't particularly care for the vocal work, but it works lol. Haven't checked out any other songs from them.

Parhelion - Gregory and the Hark is playing a few shows in my general area in a few weeks. I'm hoping I'll be able to make at least one of them. Curse having responsibilities sometimes lol. Really dig a lot of those links you put up, especially the Ulrich Schnauss song. As a flute player, I totally appreciate the Blood Ceremony song as well :D. The Bolzer song was pretty cool too. Gonna look into them a little more.

Kabuki - I couldn't get into the first song on that playlist - I thought it was a bit awkward to say the least lol. However, after a few songs in it kind of hit me that there's some cool, great things going on. Definitely an interesting find. Possibly an acquired taste, but I can see myself getting into them more.

Rook - Touhou music almost never fails to win me over tehe.
