Pictures from where I used to live in Puerto Rico

I got nostalgic the other day and decided to google a town I used to live in Puerto Rico called Sabana Seca. I lived there for about 3 years from when I was 8-10 years old. My dad was in the military at the time so we used to move to live in places like that. Anyway, much to my delight this site has a whole bunch of pictures of the place! Sadly, military bases are often abandoned and demolished once the military objective is complete, and that's exactly what happened in 2003. I always wanted to go back and visit someday so I was very upset to hear this. But at least now I'll always have some pictures :)

The front gate. Sign says "United States Naval Security Group Activity, Sabana Seca"

Aerial shot 1. We used to climb these mountains all day and explore all the caves in them.

Aerial shot 2 (with my old house!)

"The Site". This is the place just outside the town where all the military guys went to work. Top secret stuff.

Ginormous radio satellite. Another thing us civilians weren't supposed to know about. It was located deep in the jungle area outside the town. There were trails leading to it that us mischievous kids used to use sometimes.

Another shot of the radio satellite from far away.

Map of the base. Only the lower portion had houses, the upper portion is where all the secret military stuff went on

Another aerial shot.

God I miss that place

The Site looks like Midgar on the world map. Or at least how it could have been before the Shinra stuff. That must be a sign.

The house looks like a nice play to live. Seems so quiet.

Well maybe I shouldn't say 'demolished'. But usually they sell the land to a private enterprise and they convert it to whatever the heck they want. There's a lot of things they can do with the land but ultimately it ends up not the way it was when it was decommissioned.
