Hey guys, I thought you might appreciate this, it's the a-style mandolin I've been building. It's built from a Saga kit, though I couldn't tell you which one. The top is solid spruce and the back and sides are flamed maple. First thing I did was sand down the top and sides and do a little bit more carving on them, cause the factory didn't do a very good job. Then I glued the curfling in, glued on the top and back, fit the neck, and binded the top. Next step was deciding on a finish, I really like the wood so I'm keeping it natural, right now you see it with a vinyl sealer, next I'll sand it and put on 3 or 4 layers of nitro. I cut down the headstock too because the one it came with looked awful. A comment on what you think would be greatly appreciated.
