How to properly post a tab in your comments

I just wanna make a formal announcement to anyone who posts comments on the main site and likes to post tabs (which is a lot of people).

To make the tab format correctly, you have to surround the tab with <pre></pre> tags. These are HTML tags that make the text pre-formatted so that each character takes up the same amount of space. The final product looks like this:

<pre>
e--0---0---0---0---0----
B----2---2---2---2---2--
G-----------------------
D-----------------------
A-----------------------
E-----------------------
</pre>

I just joined now, and.. the formating makes the tabs all close and tight so i can barely figure out how to play anything.
here is a screen shot of formated and not formated so you can see things from my point of view.

Different browsers output things in different ways, but I can tell you for sure that the way you're browser is outputting is not correct. You're probably running a really old version of FireFox, because it's simply not respecting some of the code I use that is commonplace nowadays. The only way you can fix that is to upgrade your browser.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox and tabs still aren't formatted correctly. They used to be, but now it's all misaligned. How strange.

I wrap my tabs with '<pre></pre>' html tags just like every other guitar tab site..... does it happen when you look at tabs from ultimate-guitar.com?

I use the newest version of firefox, and it works fine for me. Anyway, thanks for the code and notice. :)

Doesn't work for me. Ultimate-guitar actually have Courier (the font you're using) as their default font when submitting.You need to let us change the fonts.

Sounds right, I remember submitting a few things to other sites that asked for Courier or possibly Courier New? font because it was Monospaced (all characters are the same width).
