I just joined now, and.. the formating makes the tabs all close and tight so i can barely figure out how to play anything. |

Different browsers output things in different ways, but I can tell you for sure that the way you're browser is outputting is not correct. You're probably running a really old version of FireFox, because it's simply not respecting some of the code I use that is commonplace nowadays. The only way you can fix that is to upgrade your browser.

I wrap my tabs with '<pre></pre>' html tags just like every other guitar tab site..... does it happen when you look at tabs from ultimate-guitar.com?

Doesn't work for me. Ultimate-guitar actually have Courier (the font you're using) as their default font when submitting.You need to let us change the fonts.

Sounds right, I remember submitting a few things to other sites that asked for Courier or possibly Courier New? font because it was Monospaced (all characters are the same width). |

I just wanna make a formal announcement to anyone who posts comments on the main site and likes to post tabs (which is a lot of people).
To make the tab format correctly, you have to surround the tab with <pre></pre> tags. These are HTML tags that make the text pre-formatted so that each character takes up the same amount of space. The final product looks like this:
