D to Dsus4 to D to Dsus2 to D; tiny progression, only E string is changed, but it sounds wonderful.
It's not technically a progression, since the chord isn't changing. What is changing is the high note, leading to a melody. So you can look at it as a harmonized melody.
Or just ignore me. Probably the better option.
Mine would have to be a straight C chord (minus the first string---e) It just sounds so...finished...and light
I-x-I
I-1-I
I-0-I
I-2-I
I-3-I
I-3-I
That's extremely odd. At least the inversion you posted. Had it been an open low E I'd understand, but traditionally, tonally, a second inversion triad sounds very irresolute, at least compared to first inversion and root position; it's usually used in passing or cadentially.
Though I suppose if you strum it slowly it almost sounds like the outline of a V-I progression...
But the high E left out definitely makes sense tonally as something "finished."
... Don't mind me. I'm half insane, with a fetish for music theory and psychology.
Coming down from a natural progression, it should sound right going through a straight key. Uhhh...I dont really have an idea to throw my point of tone across except (now im pushing this theory) Try sounding a Picardy third and kinda listen for a light noted harmony finish. And Im guessing thats what I like about it. I just enjoy a Satbilized Choir harmony.
Ooh, I just found this chord. I believe it's a Gaug7/E
e--x--
b--7--
g--8--
D--9--
A--10--
E--0--
'Tis the James Bond chord! If you want to make something dramatic and suspenseful, just play that chord after someone says something to you and give them a look
Dude, I wasn't planning to post anything before (since I didn't have a favorite chord) but I just tried this one out, and I LOVE IT, so I'll go with this chord as my favorite, cause its so awesome.

First off, this a hilarious idea for a topic.
Second, mine would have to be the most widely spread D chord,
E --3--
B --2--
G --3--
D --0--
A --X--
E --X--
It just sounds so... sweet, almost, and it's used in everything from Brain Damage to Stairway to Heaven.

I've always loved the C maj. chord. But I really like this one, I believe it's called Asus2.

It's either
e-2
b-5
g-2
d-4
a-2
e-x
which according to the notes should be B7sus4.
or Asus2
e-0
b-0
g-2
d-2
a-0
e-x
or maybe
e-0
b-0
g-3
d-4
a-4
e-2
which is F7add11 (the 11 is actually also the 4th note but let's call it 11 since it's one octave higher.)
they are beautiful chords ^^

I don't know what is this chord but it sounds beautiful. Hendrix uses it in Little Wing.
