Eye recognition / tracking

My older brother got a Galaxy S4 just barely. He was showing me the eye recognition / tracking abilities it has.

It uses the forward facing camera to track your eyes, when you look away from a movie playing it will pause the movie.

When you're reading an article it will automatically scroll for you when your eyes get toward the bottom of the screen.

Is there something like this for PC that can use my webcam? I'd love it for reading tabs.

I rarely ever use the auto-scroll cause it's never the right speed. I end up needing to scroll back up because I'm making mistakes and it's going faster than I thought I'd need. First play throughs of a tab can be unpredictable.

That's an interesting

That's an interesting thought, I haven't really seen any software tailored specifically for eye recognition on the PC.
However Galaxy S4 runs off Android so it's very likely you will see an adaption or a PC variant to the Eye recognition to pop up in the next month or 2 possibly.

Possibly sooner depending on the community

You could also just play along with a guitar pro file and mute the track, assuming a GP file is available.

Well Dstring was one of the guitar players featured for Guitarpro 6, so I think he uses it fairly often!

But I think his issue is more just being to lazy to transcribe songs to guitar pro, which is understandable especially if they don't have the timing's tabbed out in the song.

I wasn't saying put the information into it. I was getting at guitar pro's playback. It goes through the piece at whatever tempo you set it to and does the scrolling for you, for the most part at least. Some of the tabs include a GP download somewhere.

Wow I'm famous around here because of GP6 =)

Yeah I know guitar pro will automatically scroll when it needs to. I'm not asking about auto-scrolling, I stated why I really don't like autoscroll much. That goes for GP6 as well.

I'm asking about software that will scroll automatically when you approach the bottom of the page. If I get up to pee or make a sammich, I can come back and just start playing without clicking my mouse, the computer would still recognize when I approach the bottom. It would be like having someone to flip the pages for me (as many classical pianists have at their disposal).

A midi foot petal is a really good idea =)

you could play around with this, but I should warn you,I haven't really tested it out myself. It's just something I found while searching the web,if your super paranoid about viruses you probably shouldn't download it,just saying...

Tobii seems pretty legit from my prospective, although if you just got a 27-inch screen that tilts 90 degrees you could just make the monitor portrait mode and be able to see way more on your screen. Which is probably a better investment then having to get software and hardware to get eye tracking.

here, did a bit more testing and I like this program the best http://www.cameramouse.org/downloads.html easy and simple to use but its a bit tricky to get use to.Hope this helps.

edit:keep in mind this is personal opinion.
