Home recording...

I'm thinking about getting into digital home recording (not too serious, just kinda "mess around" stuff). I was just looking for suggestions for what kind of equipment I should consider purchasing. I don't wanna spend too much money, so I want something basic, but not too basic. Like:

Less basic than this:

More basic than this:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Roland-VS2480CD-24Track-Digital-Studio-with-BuiltIn-CD-Burner?sku=241059

I'm actually thinking about something like this:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-Podcastudio-USB?sku=631003
or
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Lexicon-Lambda-USB-Audio-Interface?sku=245506

What do you guys think?

I think you mean more basic than that microphone right?

I have a an SM57 microphone along with an M-Audio fast track USB interface. It's about as basic as you can get, but works very well for simple recordings. It will cost under 200 dollars.
