Here is my submission. It's inspired by Kiki's Delivery Service quite a lot so it should be more like Baltic or Atlantic sea kind of thing rather than some tropical place.
Sorry for cheap midi sounds :P

kenor, that should be in a Mario game! good stuff

wow thanks! yeah, its been ages. i dont even remember the last time i posted something was. i started a project where i've been writing/recording a new piece of music everyday (from christmas - christmas) so it doesn't leave much time for doing any covers. but maybe i should budget some time for it.

seriously though, love that track. pan flutes man. fucking pan flutes. and the melody just goes all the right places. especially when the countermelody comes in.

That's ambitious. Just found your two soundcloud accounts, I'll have to check them out!

Yeah, I couldn't decide on pan flute or piccolo for the melody, so I used both.

yeah, the starlightbuffalo one is the one for the project. the older one is the one i used to use for..whatever. starlightbuffalo.com is the site where everything gets posted.

it was a good call on using both. they obviously compliment each other well. i am curious what bank you're drawing from for the sounds, though?

I used tuxguitar to make that

I used tuxguitar to make that song. It uses the gervill soundbank I think. The instruments sound a little better than my other songs since I just discovered the reverb controls which gives it more warmth. I don't know if gervill is very good though, I never checked out any other soundbanks.

The Goal of the contest was to be an Ocean theme, Oceans are Epic ( Yes they are one of the few things in the world that can actually be referred to as epic ). Wind Waker would
be a good example of this. But Because of this I will judge them based on Beach, since most of you made more coastal beach like themes.

Kenor: I like the instruments, Not too often do we get more Percussive style music.

Basisti94: This was the closest one to the actual contest lol. reminded me a ton of Wind waker.

Brody: Very well done, it does have a underwater vibe to it ( we did that contest already! XD Where were you?! ). it does have a great progression though and flows wonderfully.

hslesperance: Love the strums, its so hard to find a decent program that has them without being Massive in size. 1:38 What is that sound? I hear it all the time in older games.

soundsandstuff: I had a hard time with this one. Maybe it was the rhythm? The Waves sound great and all it could have used a little more. maybe a second instrument.

And the Winner is..

That instrument is called a Cuíca. It's used in the goron songs from the 64 Zeldas. I've been wanting to use it in a song for a while and got the idea from Beach Bowl Galaxy.
