Just picked up this beauty for an awesome price off the internet. It's a 1999 Jackson SL1 neckthru piece of awesomeness.
The action and condition is immaculate. Being that it's almost 12 years old, the previous owner really took great care of it. Thanks dude for keeping my dream guitar in such pristine condition for me.

Fossilized Walrus ivory saddle
Offset 4mm dot inlays
Abalone single ring rosette
other crap I forget

Thanks, Trang! I also have a Cordoba C5 classical guitar, which is nothing special. It is a good beater, though! I get really rough with that one lol. I might get pictures of that one, too, someday.
ranulf, u be crampin my style getting the same guitar... but really, its a hella good guitar for an affordable price. except i got the black model cuz i already have the RG350DX in white
I'd really like to have a Gretsch i tryed one at the music store i really loved it ! i think it was €699.99 but i don't remember the name of the model ~~ it was a red one... XD with fckng nice vibrato...
But i wonder if it's a good guitar to play OST ? X)
Sounds like a nice guitar hash. I'm thinking of getting a Ibanez RG370DX for my next guitar. Getting an Ibanez would help me get a better tone of my rock and metal covers. I also need a whammy bar :)
For songs like snow's theme for FF13. If you listen at the part at 0:03 and 0:44-0:45 the note dives down and to get that sound effect on my guitar I have to manually tune my low e down. and because they are cool :)
You also got to note that the RG370DX is not a fixed bridge either. It's completely different on how to string it and the locked tunings near the headstock sometimes prevents you from downtuning to certain notes if you needed that. Stringing a floating bridge sucks imo. If you have never tried stringing a floating bridge guitar, you could easily be spending an hour trying to figure it out.
Story: In the 60s, some Gibson employee moved to Japan and started making Gibson copies. He got his ass v& for copyright. They say they are just as good, if not better. I remember trying a Gibson Hummingbird at Guitar center, sucked ass, and i remember liking an epiphone, but this Dixon Hummingbird, I love it! I hate that the painting on the pickguard is all warn off :( I got it in a trade, I traded a 1930s Cremona classical. It had a Martin back and had been repaired, but the neck was kinda bent.
Yes, I HATE tuning the guitar with a floating bridge on and those locks.
Anyways, you have a passion for red, 'ey sir?
Well, I've never really used my tremolo bar (no skills and knowledge of doing that ^^), so I've put an extra spring there and the bridge doesn't float anymore ^_^ and the bar itself lays somewhere on the shelf, being bored to death..
And no, I wanted a black Ibanez .. but the black one in the shop had a really curved neck and I wasn't sure I could even setup the height of the strings on such right. And the other shop had only a red and a lime one. I prefer red much more than lime =]
While with the Dean acoustic, it was on a special discount offer the day we went to buy a new acoustic with my dad, and it was the only one there. We tried it, loved it and now it's mine =]

Lol... That's not even a floating trem to begin with.
Lol... That's not even a floating trem to begin with.
Reviews on the Ultimate-Guitar say:
1. The bridge is a FAT10 non-locking floating tremolo.
2. Featuring a Fat10 bridge, and incorporating a floating tremolo.
And wikipedia says it's a floating tremolo too ^_^ It doesn't have locks on the nut, so it gets the guitar out of tune quickly, but I don't see why you're sure it isn't a floating tremolo ...

Lol, that trem really isn't a floating trem. What you have there is a dive only trem. Floating trem allow you to pull on the tremolo bar also.
Tuning on an actual floating trem is a lot worse.
Here's a picture of a floating trem
You can see that there is a pocket where the tremolo is which allows you to pull on the tremolo, and the trem will tilt into the pocket.
Those trems are floating. It can be used both ways. It is just much more limited (almost to the point of no movement...), because it doesn't have the pocket, but it can both dive and pull (not saying that it's useful that way). Unless it's set up to be laying on the body of the guitar, when it stops floating at all, but then it has more range for the diving motion ...

Well, as I stated before, I'm not really using my tremolo at all, because it's of little use, so I'm fine with it. The most important thing is that I have fun playing this guitar =]

I wouldn't recommend you pulling on the trem.
You might crack the body of your guitar because there's no where for your bridge to go.
Actual floyd rose floating trems will make changing strings and tuning a pain for you, so it's a good thing that you don't have one.
