A banjo version of Farm Boy?

A banjo version of Farm Boy? HECK YES! I feel like it would be awesome to put a little variety into this album. Just my opinion though.

I see some cool ideas flying around this brainstorm of a project hehe =^.^= awesome

Finally! No work this weekend!!
Might actually get some time to work on my song, which is going to be Who am I?/Who are you? with a very small excerpt from Lurking in the Darkness(Sector 4 tunnel theme) in-between. So, that's what I'm doing Hashel :-)

I might cover Mako Reactor as well.
I figure that we can all cover whatever we want to and decide which ones to throw on the "album" in the end.
Doesn't matter if we have 1 cover of a song or 10, everyone should just have fun and not worry who is doing what song. d(^_^)b

I think, if we have too many multiple full versions of one song where we have to choose, it´ll result in some type of competition what Hash wanted to avoid...so it makes sense, that we sort and also have here an overview, what is made by who^^

@ Hash
Oke, I´ll try to guitarize that Traitor^__^

Awesome Backtracking is awesome!

Yeah for sure, I understand not wanting to have a bunch of covers for the same song.
I was kind of exaggerating when I said 1 or 10 though ;-) haha
I was trying to make a point that this shouldn't be like musical chairs, leaving someone out because the songs are already "picked".
Don't want someone to feel discouraged to submit a cover just because someone says they're doing it :-)

I don't have much time to work on mine with DShentonator... And i don't know, the song is not easy to play but i have some problems to make it sounds how i want it to sound...

Anyway as i said we have until the end of September, i'll do a 2nd song too :)

@Hashel Looks like you get your wish for a shinra tribute!

SHINRA FuckTheWorld !

Just a little somthing to add : the end is a bit... violent ? idk how to explain in english but the final chord should be longer and slower...

And the 1st part is "Opening" and not "Bombing Mission" :p

I was trying to incorporate sound effects from the game to help bridge one song to the next, all the songs where part of the Remastered soundtrack so they may sound a bit different which may explain why you think the end is odd.

Right now this is simply a guide for me and to get some feedback, once the arrangement is finished I expect the final version to sound very different than this one. ( hopefully good sounding to!)

If you want to be technical it's "Opening ~ Bombing Mission" but I figured everyone knew what I would mean.

Thanks for the feedback though!

Due to some scheduling issues with my collab partner, I have to drop my cover of Costa Del Sol. So instead I've come up with a mix for You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet. I'm not sure if we're supposed to be playing live instruments for this project (this track is all synth) but Hashel said to go ahead and post it, so here it is:

Yeah the part at about 10 seconds in is supposed to be sort of a wailing sound effect, so this is a great comment to see! It's been a long time since I played FF7, but I think the game used a similar sound effect during some story parts about the lifestream. I just threw it in there because, you know, crying planet and all.

My last link was for inspiration for the subtle and more calm mixes of Square music, and here's for the people who like hearing it heavy and done right. imo, it's hard to mix drums in metal but this guy does it pretty well. He compliments the instruments rather than drowning out the drums.

Your goal is met, got inspired ;D

If you mix something, it´s hard to mix it, so that everyone will hear the same ;P
All the people out there have different sound systems, amps and speakers and individual EQ-Settings... and on each one, the same song will sound different..
Each commentator on Youtube probably listened to another "variation" of the same of your files ;)
So if you mix, you hear, what your system gives you.
---------

Argh, I recognized clipping in a song -.-*
Futhermore I think, the drums and rhythm-guitar are a bit too dominant in relation to the melody/lead-guitar! (just my opinion)
Jeah, it´s awesome played and mixed (and right recorded rhythm with more than one track), but in music and art, everything is also a matter of taste :)

I think here, we should compare our covers at best with the OST and not with other guitarists in the net, who have tons of years more experience and skills ;P
This still is no competition :)

But jah, he´s a good example for mixing or even making drums and fat rhythm^^

In aspect of mixing itself I think, Otto/Link^^ had the focus on the whole song, not just single aspects.
When I listen to her Jenova, I can hear each instrument and midi clear.

Ok, one instrument always is in foreground, but also that is normal. In the OST ist the same.
If you make it too heavy, other things will suffer... If you do the opposite, it could sound thin... mixing is a matter of the golden middle^^ (but don´t mix just in the middle xD)

And before someone says "don´t bleat, make it better"... > I don´t think so - in the absence of experience ^____^

but here´s someone, who makes a fusion ;)
