Tune Contest #24B - Game Over

Since my original movie trailer theme didn't work out, here's a new topic as suggested by hashel

Game Over

This is NOT a credits song. Make a tune for when the character you play dies (during gameplay, not a cutscene).

Make an upbeat, better luck next time song a la Mario
A crushing defeat
Or maybe a "Rest in Peace" vibe

  • Must be original work for this contest
  • No lenghth requirement since most game over themes are a few seconds but they can be longer
  • Any audio format, live or midi instruments
  • Since these songs are typically short you can make multiple entries and I'll pick the one I like best

This is a really good theme,

hehe i tried to make it sound retro nintendo, when they would have a game over screen and you would be all out of continues and have to start from the beginning again xD your entry and hashel's and kabuki's are awesome they totally remind me of an rpg type game over hehe

Oh No! Luigi's butt is all plump and full of poison, now Mario has to suck it out. Or just make Toad do it haha

Awesome songs guys!

SnS, Your retro game over reminded me of dying in Burger Time, an Atari game I own haha
Trang's had a Castlevania feel to it. Very clean.
Kabuki's was short n' sweet, made me think of dying in Suikoden I or II
Hashel's really hit home with me. I always play songs that have sort of a sad, reflective feel to it. Sentimental Songs. I like it man :-)

Getting my mic soon, hopefully I can participate next time.

This can't be an entry

This can't be an entry because I made it a long time ago, but I think it might work for a creepy graveyard game. What do you think?

And then I realized that the chord progression from Chrono Cross's Another World is the same progression as the chorus from Peace of Mind by Boston, and life was never quite the same.

Kind of fits the theme, but not an original composition.

I like Jit's a lot. Trang's

Yeah! You better like it: I tried hard squeezing major 7th, dominant 7th, diminished and augmented chords into those 40 seconds. Not to mention those tonic stubstitutions and my slushy playing. :]

Nice variety of themes here

Nice variety of themes here and more people than the last few contests, yay!

I really like Kabuki's, jit's, and Gio's pedals

But I pick Trangoul as the winner
