Hey, as i have more time for me those week, so i come back here :D

I'd like to make new videos and i'd really enjoy to make a collab with one (or more) of you !
I always enjoy to see Auri & Juja's collabs so maybe that would be cool !
So if someone wants to make a collab with me (or with anyone els) with any instruments or music style that would be nice =)

There are some songs i'd like to make from the FF (especially the 5 right now) or games liks CC, CT, Xenogears, Castlevania, Mega Man... or whatever !

So maybe this will be the "Official Collabs Topic", if of course you guys are interested in !

(Maybe make one day a big GT collab ^^)

For the drums we can program them (but i'm not really good at this) or maybe you can play them with your synth ?

Have to know if others people are interrested in...

Heh, I've basically come to rely on collaborating since I don't feel that I can produce decent drum tracks by myself (this is more of restraint of software and a crappy computer than not knowing how). I've been hoping to do some new and much improved recordings and actual video with my drummer friend in the near future (we submitted 2 videos a few years ago, but the quality was pretty bad).

So, yeah, collaborations are pretty cool. I would definitely recommend working on things with other people if possible. Collaborating with Auriplane definitely helped me improve; I am now somewhat less bad at music than I used to be.

Hey i'm happy to see some motivation here ^^

If you'r okay i think we can start with something easy to fix how to work together.

Maybe "The Price Of Freedom" from FF7CC, it's an easy but good song !

There are : Drums (synth/prog), violin (synth), rhythm acoustic guitar, clean melody guitar, dist rhythm guitar, dist melody guitar, dist solo guitar, bass

If you want to work on this one (we can wait for others people) we can just make a collab cover, or make and arrangement, add a new solo etc...

Opinions ? :D

The price of freedom would be perfect for a collab I think.

I can do electric guitar and bass.

So 1st, do you want to play the tab as the original song or wanna make an arrangement ?
2nd we all have to use the same tab with 4 beats at the beguining to make the start.
I can play the violin with my synth, i can export drums from GP6 wav file, but maybe one of you can use abetter prog for drums ?

I'd like to play dist melody and solo guitar, violon on synth

Ianlicious will play bass and you Pasto dist rythm

Who wants to play the clean melody and the clean rhythm ? (i can do them too if you don't want to play them)

I haven't tested my recording quality for my acoustic cause my mic is garbage, but if I have decent quality I'll do the clean lead. If not, sad face.

PS: I will still do just the bass, though.

edit: I learned every track in the GP tab, so I vote we use that. :P

and it would be super easy for timing and stuff if we all just use the 4 beat built in countdown in GP.

I can definitely do the clean melody on my electric but I don't know how it'll sound opposed to an acoustic. I might be able to tweak overloud to give it a more acoustic feel to it.

Either way, I'll record the bass today and if the electric sounds good that too.

Also, I'm up for mixing it all and doing the video editing, too.

Just email me the .mp3 and video files or wutev.

Make sure to send me an .mp3 of your instrument so I can mix it and what not.
Also, if you can, send video that I can sync up with the final mix.

once I get the clean rhythm I'll be able to start mixing everything to sync.

Also, feel free to stray from the song a little bit, but please try and keep the timing similar with the GP tab so it's easier for me to mix.

This is gonna be good methinks.

as long as the .wave is the entire length of the song so it syncs up I can edit out all the noise while you're not actually playing.

Wth are you two on with the .wav needing to be full length. Synchronizing a part isn't a hard task, even on audacity you can zoom in (for bigger precision) and properly place a shorter segment in the middle of a backing track/etc. Doesn't take more than some minutes even if you're slow.
Unless I misunderstood, but simply recording the segment he had to play suffices. If there's also the backing track in the recording, it would be problematic for volume mixing, but if it's a proper guitar-only recording then yeah there's np there.
Just my five cents because it's what most do I believe; at least I do 1:

But having to do a re-take that includes a 2-3minutes (random numbers) wait before you get to play would be pretty stupid since you can start off-beat by accident or do a stupid mistake that you'd like to correct (you can always correct that with other sound layers, but then it could give continuity problems). For more precise synchronizing, you can zoom in and (at least on audacity) see when the sounds start/higher volume moments which is usually at the start of a beat/measure, if it's not the case you adapt to the correct situation. That just seems more practical especially long-term wise <:
