Maybe people can just describe which movie and part they are making the song for as apposed to having an actual video. :-)

This is similar to a theme I had in mind about making your own song to your favorite part in a video game.
Like an altered version of Chrono Trigger's "End of Time" that gives it a sense of impending doom.
My idea kind of takes away from the "originality" aspect though haha

i personally thought the theme needed too much work even though its a nice idea
i dont feel like editing a video
also i wouldnt want to unless i could somehow keep the commentary and sound effects while muting the original music

I had the idea of a TCRemix

I had the idea of a TCRemix where you would take another person's song from a previous tune contest and arrange it into a new style, but that sounds even more complicated XD

I was playing Yahtzee's(from Zero Punctuation) new game Poacher yesterday and found that there was no music during levels, only boss battles. Maybe we could write some songs for that game

Yeah, scoring a video is a lot of work. If you don't have some sort of program that can loop sections of video or where you can mark places where you want things, it's even harder. Movie composers use specialized software and usually have a keyboard directly under a monitor to play along and mark sections. Plus, most scenes already have their own music and muting it removes a lot of stuff that makes them at all interesting or powerful.

So new theme methinks.
