Something out of your old music collection qualifies as a rehash. The point is to get people to compose something new. Just because we've never seen it, doesn't make it new!

And then I realized that the chord progression from Chrono Cross's Another World is the same progression as the chorus from Peace of Mind by Boston, and life was never quite the same.

hey giogiogio4! i'd make something completely new, like musenji pointed out recycling something you already made kind of defeats the purpose of the contest, which is to have fun making a new composition and putting your skills to practice xD can i call you giodude xO

Oooh, nice! Reminded me of the first time I danced with a girl that I truly loved, not because the song was similiar (I can't even remember the tune) but because it conveys that feeling...if ya know what I mean.
Anyways, excellent!

It's kinda like a mix between a boss fight and a dance. At the beginning of the song, you're at a dance (a waltz, I guess). By the middle of the song you begin to notice something's not quite right. Then by the end, a boss battle has begun and everything is going terribly. You lose. Game over.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a great turnout and here are my opinions!

bleedingfingers - close to heaven
- i'm liking the piano, holy crap, great rhythm, and i hear some violins, some ambient water and birds in the back, nice touch, and a lead guitar, surreal jazzed quality to it. i kind of liked it better without the guitar, it felt sort of out of place with the rest of the song being mellow, and the guitar was a bit piercing, great track nonetheless! it made me imagine a couple doing a nice calm dance in a peaceful forest by the water

Jacob31593 - reverie in green - lovin the rhythm, with that nice reverb to it, that lead is beautiful, this is very catchy, nice bass part in the middle, makes me feel like a dance in the evening in a meadow, like a tango among fireflies and a soothing breeze. it builds up towards the middle, with that intensity, and i like how it ended, a gradual fade, like a couple finished dancing and are holding each other in their arms just enjoying the moment together, beautiful!

srvjimiandkurt - banana cape - makes me think of a banana wearing a cape, doing a waltz, definitely, that banana is having a ball, reminds me a fun level like a circus or amusement park area, and there are specialty dancers and performers, i hear rhythm guitar, lead, drum and bass, oh towards the end it starts gettin serious, a passionate ending, a little long but a nice contrast to the rest of the song

kage25130 - kung foo boogie
- holy crap, famitracker, and this one definitely has the beat going, diggin the bass and the leads, can definitely picture poppin and lockin to this, the leads are well written out too, i'm diggin following along to it and the upbeat is great, can picture this as one of those really popular anime opening music sequences that everyone learns the dance to and everyone dances to it at cosplays and cons, great stuff

jit - arisen - haha the video along with this makes me want to call it techno viking vs the yellow dog - i'm lovin the beat on this one! definitely fits in an club, there should be more clubs in towns in rpgs so we can have songs like this in more video games, nice pads at the end too, totally dj style

hslesperance - dance - this ones hot too, groovin bass, nice change up in the middle there with the arpeggios and the lead, nice midi soloing, very well done, and , ah! it ended, wish there was more, and could have used some more percussion, i feel like this song can be in one of those really fun wario ware games, awesome

i had a really hard time deciding which one i liked the best, I listened to all the tracks at least thrice, they made me shake my booty, and i'm going to have to go with Reverie in Green by Jacob31953! Congratulations and thanks to all the participants, lets have some more! xD
