I like them as they are, the green isn't overpowering, its the best possible shade and gradient of green. That grey rendition isn't bad, but it's inferior to the current design in my opinion.

The gray is a bit bland, I would stick to green or maybe blue due to them being colors that are supposed to make people feel more relaxed lol.

I like the current design. It feels homey, and it's recognizable. Plus it has an NES vomiting sheet music.

If there would be a new skin implemented, just manage it so the user can choose between the previous one and new/different ones. Forced changes in layouts have generally always brought unpleasant criticisms the last years, although it's always only temporarily like in yt/fb's cases (always hate bandwagon everytime it happens).

What would the gametabs youtube channel be used for? Make it into something kind of like candyrat which shows different guitarists instead of seeing each of them (or the people here, in our case) uploading on different/non-related accounts? And to upload special group arranges(for example) from users here to sponsor/advertise them too?
Should be nice.

or "Official Gametabs Channel" we can post some recordings, tutorials ? (or just recording with tabs & slowing it down?), riff challenge winner video, Tune contest winner video (mp3 + picture is good too), some collabs ! i always thought it would be cool to make some collective works =) we can even post some mp3 arrangements or medley (or ricordings if we record them) etc etc

just something to show the comunauty ^^

This may not be the brightest of ideas considering the legal gray area of tablature but what about trying to get interviews with game composers? Would it be possible? Is that something anyone would care to read?

Sorry I know this is off topic but I just thought while we were throwing out site suggestions I'd put that out there.

I know there are many good composers here who can make some cool medly or arrangements to make collabs with =)
(but everyone is buzy with is own personal stuff...)

The first link ash posted is not very aesthetically pleasing. if you're going to change the color of the banner because it is too bright, why not change the sidebar to grey too like natemmn did? I like the green alot, but I wouldn't mind switching to nates version either.

I was trying to figure out how to somehow mix famous game weapons into it like the keyblade handle, clouds sword and the mastersword. I left the text logo how it was because Thats the sites logo and such but idk. going to keep fooling around with it.

or maybe have a few game chars peeking out from behind around the logo. Lol have the classical guitar side turn into a pacman game with the strings making the maze and have him in there.

negative, disc 4, in memoria, same little "underwater" area where you find hades and his synth shop. the alotted time is 12 hours, and the item in question is the excalibur II. nigh impossible, and all but pointless, except for completions sake.

^^ im 95% sure of this fact--i didnt get the item in question, just cause i didnt wanna fuck with it--id rather milk the game for all its worth without having to hurry through for the sake of a questionable item, even thoughts its the best weapon in the game.

pps im glad to hear youve gained some appreciation for IX bacardi. last boss will disappoint you though--pointless, even though he looks cool. what part are you on in dsic 3? have you been to terra yet?

also, its highly worthwhile to complete chocobo hot & cold, not only is it highly addictive, it reveals some cool little areas like the air garden and chocobo garden, as well as mognet central (which is another highly worthwhile sidequest, and easy to mess up if youre not mindful of whats going on.)

at this point bacardi, if you havent delievered each letter to each respective moogle, youre hosed--on disc 4, you wont be able to reach certain areas where some of the moogles are)

also, i hope youve taken part in the coffee quest for morrid in the dali village lookout mountain place. i believe the reward is an MS prima vista model, which is ideal for the auction sidequest in treno. at least im pretty damn sure about this.

and can anyone please tell me the benefit of defeating ozma? ive never done so, but that damn ass motherfucker gave me such a hard time i said fuck it; which is something ive never done before in an FF game, except for ruby and emerald in VII

you can synthesize the second piece of the pumice piece at hades synth shop, you need to have cinnas hammer though im pretty sure. (also required for the tin armor for steiner)

like i said, i never beat ozma, but i had ark; im pretty sure the other piece is obtained from beating the boss in oielvert (i think the boss actually WAS ark).

if the reward from ozma is another pumice piece though, im thinking it might be used to synth a rod or racket for eiko or dagger/garnet/DILDO, but im not at all sure about this.

you can synth beatrix's sword save the queen at the hades synthesization shop too, but ill be damned if i know why; steiner cant even equip it.

I think it needs a saying under it, like a slogan for the website. Still wanting to add some characters to it but dont want to overcrowd it.

i second the skins idea that was mentioned earlier as well! that would add a cool customization dynamic to the site; i also think a buddies list type thing would be kinda cool too, and like a rank tracker underneath the avatar or the username.

as far as a slogan would go... hmm.

i really dont know, thats a tough one, gimme som time and i might be able to think up something catchy, unless someone beats me to the bit, which is fine; this is just something usually good at, slogans and what not.

but the white is definately cooler and even fresher than the green.

I tried flipping it around like you said, it just seemed off the circle added too much weight too the side next to the logo, well to me. Im going to make the text a bit bigger though, still adding a little bit of detail to it, its the same logo as before, i just worked on it a bit longer. Added depth to it. But i will make both versions, a flipped one as well in my next update.
