Hashel, try to master it at a tempo you CAN play it at :-D You can still get something out of it. And mastering something slow = how you master something fast.

It's a million times more easy to do pinch harmonics when your (picking hand) nails are mega long, which is also good for fingerstylers

Mini Guide on Pinch

Mini Guide on Pinch Harmonics...

1. Stick your pick between the A and the D string and make sure your thumb is laying on the A string, and most likely the E string also. Do not worry about your left hand at this point. Just get this right hand technique down.
2. Push downwards towards the floor and pick the D string. The picking motion should be like digging the D string up.

The part of your thumb that the arrow is pointing at should have tapped the D string right after you picked.
This will create the harmonic sound. Make sure your thumb is not touching the D string after you pick and tapped the string or else you will mute the harmonic.
3. Now try this again with your left hand on the 7th fret A string.
4. Hit the harmonic
5. Do a crazy vibrato

Pinch harmonics usually only sound good with a good vibrato.

Put the mic on the "brige"

Put the mic on the "brige" position (the opposit of the neck), the easiest strings for pinched harms are D & G. Heavy gain and compressor help for sure ^^

hashel, that exemple...you do it? from what music you get it?

the 1st part is the end of SJ

hashel

the 1st part is the end of SJ challenge, the 2nd is the main riff of "maybe i'm a lion" (timing is a bit off^^') 3rd part is the beguining of my solo in "stage 5" cover ^^

I remember i was trying to make some PH, i can't, but one day i was playing improvised solos and one came just like that, and from this moment i can do pinched harms xD

Hehe, I streamed it earlier,

Hehe, I streamed it earlier, though I think only Kage and Sounds were listening then. I have sloppy picking / eco picking habits, so it's kind of challenging for me. I did it fine at 90bpm, but if I speed up, I fall back on doing it the other way @_@ So I need to practice it slowly for a while, to try to retrain my brain.

I'm going to be working on the basics forever :-D

EDIT: Oh, and I still can't do the pinch at the end to save my life.

Same here, I hit the string with the side of my thumb right before I strike with the pick, works great.

I'm stuck at around 90bpm as

I'm stuck at around 90bpm as well. Are you supposed to strictly alternate pick or can you switch from downpicking to altpicking throughout it? I have trouble altpicking back and forth between multiple strings sometimes...
