I was considering setting it up just to see if the games look nicer.

Having to buy a wireless sensor bar seems iffy though...not sure I really want to do that.

you don't NEED a sensor bar.
buy two candles, light them, put them infront of your screen or monitor, set them about 8 inches apart (about as long as the sensor bar)
and the wiimote will work like a charm.
don't even know the science behind it but shit works

and I dunno I couldn't even get the gamecube emulator to run on my computer without lagging like crazy, so I don't know if I'd even want to try wii...

They're one and the same from what I understand. (It's a GC and Wii emulator)
