I think this was overlooked. Is anyone interested in making their own ocarina song?

Here's my Entries ( updating as I go )
My link doesn't suffer from down syndrome and figured out there's more then 5 notes on his ocarina and that there's trigger functions on some of these as well XD

Those sound good, but I meant

Those sound good, but I meant you can only use the five main tones from the game, you can use as many notes as you want for the melody that the player would input. But the trigger melody should only consist of D,F,A,B,D

Haha, this guy's Link is a vituoso http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiXYWlPfH4o I guess five notes is limiting. If anyone else makes a song you can use other notes besides the main five in game tones.

The game controls actually let you get about a Octave and a half with the triggers and such. it wouldn't be so restrictive if the guy didn't already use every decent outcome of using them already lol. It would be much more open that you have to use those notes but are aloud to sharpen and flatten them. So you would have to have DFABD as the triggers but allowing to have D#/b F#/b A#/b B#/b in the trigger lines opens it up much more. my the unseen path theme followed the DFABD Cap though. Or simply add a rule that lets you Sharpen/Flatten 2 notes in the trigger line? Doing so prevents the entire Key from being changed too much. Doing too many will result in many more notes being changed to balance out note names. Example would be changing B to B# then you would have to change C up a half step because B# and C are on the same fret. And adding a E# would have the same effect on F so just sharpening 2 notes actually made 4 notes different. So limiting the trigger could help keep the guidelines Zelda like while opening it up much more. to the Mods. Is there a way to allow us to keep updating our post? I want to keep adding songs to my last post and such without taking up more space on the topic.

Wow, you're really pumping

Wow, you're really pumping out those songs. And those are good suggestions, I like the first idea of using a sharp or flat of the original five. And I'll ask Ash about editing posts, I think people have mentioned it before. I guess only mods can edit a post after they have made a second?

Well I said put a limit because if you sharpen or flatten Every note you pretty much have a whole new scale XD . I Flattened 1 note and it pretty much changed the whole chord structure in the song above XP Idk the posting rules, But it would make Submission threads easier to manage with all our songs in 1 post instead of being spread out or reposted.

Ah, the warp songs from Ocarina of Time. Who else would play the Bolero of Fire only to select no when asked to warp?
I thought it would be interesting to compose some original ocarina songs similar to those found in Ocarina of Time. I searched online and only found one person who has already tried: doctorw39 and his three songs
Song of Tribute
Symphony of Soul He actually admits to using a C note, but it sounds good
Symphony of Redemption Same as Soul but with a trumpet for the harp
Guidelines:
Preferably use the five main notes from the game controller for the trigger melody - DFABD
But if you want to you can use other notes for the part that the player would input.
No length requirement - The songs should be around the same time depending on the tempo
If you prefer to use the transformation mask instruments from Majora's Mask, go ahead
Deadline - Til' the end of forever! This is not a tune contest. No judging = no due date
Here are a few of my own songs
Jazz of Soul
I don't know too much about jazz, so hopefully this suits the genre. I'm suprised Kondo didn't use this simple three note melody. Yeah, I borrowed soul form doctorw39, but soul and jazz go together.
Samba de Lava
And I know even less about Samba! But this melody seemed like it fit into a latin theme.
Deku Butler's Lament
Mikau and Darmani use the Song of Healing to sooth their souls, but there are a couple unfortunate characters who never felt the effects of Link's ocarina. I used the Deku Link Pipes (trumpet) and worked in a minor key version of the Deku Palace melody.
Here's an interesting analysis of the 6 warp songs that I found useful with my own compositions http://danbruno.net/writing/ocarina/
So Gametabs, how many songs can we make with just five notes?
