They do look cute together. I'm not a big Zelda person but the visuals in this game are much more appealing to me than Twilight Princess's. |

Also I have a hard time taking a game with a "dark tone" seriously when it's about an elf boy with pink hair in a skirt who plays with fairies. Jussayin. Wait, TP was supposed to be dark and gloom? Since when, all I saw was a more realist textural design with a rustic look thrown on. Even the supposed darkest character being Zant turned to be more of a comic relief in terms of a sub ending boss. Shit would have been a lot more real if that arrow did kill that girl in the beginning and a few of Link's beloved townies got slaughtered in that raid. But she just ended up with cliche amnesia and everyone was fine, the end. There was more tragedy in A Link to the Past when people actually died, granted they were restored back to life with the triforce at the end; death is death. Seriously, what's even broody about it? |

Maybe it wasn't, it just felt like it was trying to pander to the market that wanted that. I did not own a 64 when OoT and MM were big so I guess I kinda missed the boat. It feels like TP was more the game to appeal to those people. I dunno. |

I didn't mean like angsty dark, I mean like, literally dark, and yeah, rustic. Less cartoony, more realism. I liked it, reminded me of majora's mask. |

Well zelda games these days typically change in art style rather dramatically because they have a bit more versatility with the hardware. TP, WW, and now SS all display different artistic perspectives. While TP may be more similar to OoT or MM, it was after the release of WW and throwing out another cel shaded game would have been somewhat redundant. It wasn't just fan pandering as much as it was more about a natural progression of things. Yeah, the OoT and MM fanboys yipped when TP was making its debut, but it's not as though they hadn't been asking for OoT/MM successor since the debut of the gamecube (and that demo video of the Link and Ganondorf battle). They'll do what they want, just like they're doing now with SS. |

Skyward Sword never fails to stir up a discussion about the visuals, eh? I think SS and TP both have good art styles for the tones they are trying to set. And I can't wait to here the SS soundtrack with orhestrated music. From what i've heard so far it seems better than TP, which felt a bit lacking, particularly in melodies.

I suppose if they just kept the same style with every game, we'd all get bored. I'm sure it'll be a great game no matter what. I thought that most of the melodies were pretty damn cool, the battle with zant, midna's themes, minigame music, but the temples kinda blew. Every zelda game gets atleast a handful of awesome songs imo. I'm so amped to see the new tabs that come out of this. |

Yeah maybe I should give twilight princess another shot. I think I was introduced to the series from an odd perspective in that the only one I really beat was Link's awakening and I barely played any of the other games until they were much older and I had played similar games that were newer/more polished *cough*beyondgoodandevil*cough*. As long as I never have to fight some bullshit snake boss where I get knocked back to the bottom floor of the dungeon every time his ginormous snake ass smacks me I will probably enjoy this new zelda. Oh and for lols if you haven't seen it |

I think it will also be the same songs from TP and a lot of new songs but the story =S ...in my opinion,TP and OOT have the best story. SS is certainly funny and cute *0* but my number one is TP sorry for my bad english -.-

Yeah, there are some good melodies in TP, but not many. I was actually reading this article yesterday. The writer is a little harsh, but I kind of agree with him. I'm not too sure about Minegishi and Ohta for the Zelda series. I think Mahito Yakota (composer of Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, also the fantastic TP trailer "Don't want you no more" and some Skyward Sword songs) is the ideal successor to Kondo. And I watched that Zero Punctuation video when it first came out. Funny stuff "Fuck me, it's cold in here!"
