I have a bit of a hard time with getting NES music to sound right. Can someone tell me if this is in the right key? It sounds all right when I play it by itself, but when I play with the song I feel like maybe something is off.

Only one wrong note:

e|---------------------------|-----------------------------|
B|---------------------------|----------------------8------|
G|--7-9-7-6-7-9----10--9~----|--7-9-7-6-7-9----10-9---10---|
D|---------------------------|-----------------------------|
A|---------------------------|-----------------------------|
E|---------------------------|-----------------------------|

Last note should be a 10. (It was a 9)

I modified your tab to how I'd play it. You don't have to play it the way I do, obviously, but I thought you might be interested. I put in a few notes. (I'm not trying to correct your tab here, I'm just pointing out some things about where you play the parts.)

e|--------5----------------------------------|
B|------6---8-6-5--------5-------------------|
G|----7-----------7----5---5~-------5--------|
D|--8-----------------------------8---7~-----|
A|-------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------|

In this part, I didn't move up the neck halfway--easier to stay in position.
I stay in 5th position for a while. If you play a phrase on the same part
of the neck, it sounds a little more consistent in tone, and it's also easier,
most of the time.

e|--------5------------8------6-5---------|
B|------6---8-6-5--------8--------8-6~----|
G|----7-----------7-----------------------|
D|--8-------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|

B|------6---8-6-5--------5-------------------|
G|----7-----------7----5---5~-------5--------|
D|--8-----------------------------8---7~-----|
A|-------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------|

e|--------5-----------------------|
B|------6---8-6-5--------5~-------|
G|----7-----------7-----------8---|
D|--8-----------------------------|
A|--------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------|

Hand moves up slightly..

e|---------------------------|----------------------------|
B|-----------------6---------|-----------------6---8-6----|
G|--7-9-7-6-7-9--------9~----|--7-9-7-6-7-9------9--------|
D|---------------------------|----------------------------|
A|---------------------------|----------------------------|
E|---------------------------|----------------------------|

And back down...

e|-------------------------|--------------5------|
B|--5-6-5---5-6----6---5~--|--6-5---5-6-5----8---|
G|--------8----------------|------8--------------|
D|-------------------------|---------------------|
A|-------------------------|---------------------|
E|-------------------------|---------------------|

I'm liking the tone better on this part of the neck. Your mileage may vary :-D

e|--5-----------5----------------------------|
B|------------6----8~------8--------5-8--6~--|
G|----------7---------------------5----------|
D|--------8---------------------7------------|
A|-------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------|

e|--------------------------------------5------------------|
B|----5-6----------5-6~---------5-6--8-----------8-6-8~----|
G|--7----------7-7-----------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------|

My thumb never moves during these two measures, but I do pivot my wrist for the
13 12. I don't really know why I play it this way, but it seems most natural to me.

e|----------8-7------6-8-6------|----------8-7--------10---8--7--13---12~---|
B|-------10-----8~---------10~--|-------10-----8~---------------------------|

Up to 12th position. Middle on 13, index on 12, pinky on 15.

The next part is a _chromatic scale_ pattern. The pattern for
those is 4 notes per string. I moved the 11 onto the next
string, so it's the 16 here. That's because we already
had three notes on the first string, and normal scales
are three notes per string.

The last two notes of the chromatic scale are moved onto
the third string, because we already have four notes on
the second string, and chromatic scales are 4 notes per
string.

Oh wow so it was right? lol good. If you want to post it, you can use yours. The song was kind of fast in some parts, so easier is definitely better! :) thanks
