Guitar Rig . . . Help !

I really hate Guitar Rig, but is the only way I have to make my guitar sound ok . . . last month guitar rig stop to work ( as you can see of my "unplugged" video . . . LoL )it cant "recognize" my guitar, everything else works ok. I didn't changed any settings so I was like : "WTF ?" so I start to change settings in this days, but I can find out a way to make it work. I use the asio driver and have windows XP . . .
Plz Plz Plz Help . . .

What do you mean by "it can't recognize the guitar"? ^^

I've used Guitar Rig 1 & 2 as a plugin for the recording programs along with the asio driver, and the only thing I needed to do for it to work was plug in my guitar into Mic In or Line In and enable that channel in the Windows Mixer's recording settings

I'd like to help Pasto but this damn thing never even read my guitar or my PC, nor my friends guitar on his PC. Maybe you're lucky that it even worked till now... I'd try to simply reinstall it, but if you've already tried that then I really don't know... Maybe there are some vids about that on yotube. That's how I usually solve my program problems.

Well, Probably Guitar Rig just suck . . . A lot of person have trouble with that.

An easy fix would to be to just get a proper USB interface. It would also sound a lot better than using the Mic/Line in.

I agree that a proper USB interface would be a lot better, but those things are damn expensive for a jobless student like me =(

As I asked, you should tell more about how it can't recognize your guitar. Maybe post a screenshot of what happens, or I could try to help you (not promising a result though) if you showed your screen and what you're doing by a Skype conversation.

Well, probably something happen to the asio or midi settings. Some month ago i plugged the guitar in the mic enter, open guitar rig and every work fine. Some weeks ago I do that as usual, but than the program can't recognize the guitar ( I play and nothing happen, Like nothing was plugged in ). Maybe I have to try Guitar Rig 3.

If you're plugged into Mic In, check that your Windows Mixer has Mic In enabled as the recording channel (because I've seen that some programs sometimes change those settings without notifying you).

That's how my recording settings would look, if I was using Mic In to play through Guitar Rig (I'm using the integrated sound card on my motherboard, and different types of those can have some difference in settings, but they should be pretty obvious):

In ASIO you should also check, that the needed devices are selected and there are no error marks (I had a problem once, when it told me, that this device is already used by another problem and thus can't be used in ASIO at the moment).
That's how my ASIO settings look:

If you don't have that much money to waste, then why did you pay for Guitar Rig if you don't even know how to use it...?

Edit: I'm not sure you're computer will be able to handle to latency issues with your on-board sound card anyways, even if you did get it working.

Using ASIO drivers you

Using ASIO drivers you minimize the latency even without good hardware (of course it's not an ultimate solution, but it isn't bad). Without them latency is too high to play.

lol are you sure you didn't just torrent/download it? That's a weird gift to give as a present. I could understand an amp, even an FX pedal, but the Guitar Rig program isn't exactly your typical gift...
